In my later teens (~98) I became a huge Nirvana fan. But grunge was a hideous era. Took the carefree fun and bombast of the 80s hair bands and relentless energy of thrash and entirely relieved heavy music of its balls. Smothering the fire with a sopping-wet flannel shirt to be known as "alternative"

Watching this West Ham game tonight feels like end-stage football. Sad. A half-full soulless stadium. Deathly quiet. Fans, who never wanted to leave, boycotting due to hideous predatory owners. A patchwork squad with no identity full of demotivated players after four managers. They look lost.

Annoyed that Slot has picked the same team that absolutely stank the gaff out at Chelsea. Doesn't feel like form matters to him. Gomez, Robbo, Jones, Wirtz and Hugo hard done by. Macca's always like a pensioner after every break, but he's been like that all season. Shouldn't be starting today.
