The UCP government in Alberta passed legislation to make sex education opt-in only, even though parents have had the option to opt their kids out of sex ed for 20 years.

They've only explained this as "parental rights," but what about children's rights?

Hi. I transcribe child forensic interviews

You know who doesn’t want kids to know the correct names for body parts? The predators that put those kids in a position to need child forensic interviews.

Those kids NEVER know the right words for their body parts and it is always a hinderance.
It’s okay to name butts. It's okay to laugh about them. It is developmentally appropriate and healthy for toddlers (let alone fifth graders) to name body parts. We all have bums. What is the fear here? 5/

The Department of National Defence's Access to Information Directorate just asked me, in response to a request I filed in November, “What constitutes a ‘report’?”

After I said that they know what a report is, they replied with a sarcastic “Have a great day!!”

Exactly. If they wanted to bargain in any kind of good faith they would first say, "if you say no there will be no dogs, no guns, no spying, and no harassment."

Everyone saw the ongoing militarised effort to crush Wet’suwet’en dissent - who can negotiate knowing that's the alternative?

This. Let's have actual numbers.

Are wait times reduced? Is mortality increased for those with life threatening conditions waiting for surgery?

5 Acceptable Body Count: We need to post current surgical wait times for cardiac, bowel, and cancer surgeries. Reinstitute tracking and public reporting of the number of pts who die while on public pay surgical waiting lists.

The annual federal report on MAID was released late last week. Out of the 166 people who self-identified as Indigenous that accessed MAID in 2024, 21.7% were from the territories (NWT, Yukon, Nunavut), where adequate healthcare is hard to come by.

They already have their answer on that, the Chiefs have spoken.

Instead they'll do the modern colonial thing, which BC and Eby have perfected, they'll find a Nation or two to agree, and then say "some agree and some don't 🤷" and carry on.

#Lytton residents will have their class-action lawsuit against Canada’s two major railway companies heard in the B.C. Supreme Court, thanks partly to new evidence of high brake temperatures on a train passing through the community shortly before the town burned.
