Caver, Home Brewer, Synth nerd, Trail runner, Bikepacking Cyclist, and a bit of maths and data work on the side.
Dunno Vance, but from where I’m sitting, hiding behind masks, flak jackets, and guns while intimidating innocent citizens looks more like “cowardly bullshit” than those protesting against thuggery.

Look at this and reconsider Trump’s claim that Putin wouldn’t have dared to invade if Trump were president.

He clearly would have.

Putin isn’t afraid of Trump because Trump is weak and compromised

Best year so far on the solar PV yield (despite somewhat dodgy numbers for July when the WiFi was acting up). 6.1MWh.

Ok, poll the internet time. As I’ll be spending some time in France next year, I’d like to revive my leaving cert language skills. Any reccs for ways to improve my conversational skills? Podcasts/Simple online news/??

The far right have had their arses handed to them in recent elections. I don’t see this getting much traction.

Exhausted economist technical rant: every time someone talks about a GPU or TPU or other unit of compute, their comparisons are trash unless normalized by BOTH sticker price for the chip AND energy consumption of the chip. Chip cost = fixed; energy = marginal cost.

Oh my god y'all I had not seen the rest of the Vanity Fair photos holy shit. Christopher Anderson deserves a medal.

Look at this. He left the LIGHT SWITCHES in the edited photos! These assholes look like their well-meaning mom took a picture of them on their first day in a grown-up job.

Good day with a mix of bike fettling (brake line bleed), synthing (haken continuum firmware update), and a little numerical coding work. Followed by a beer or two and a book (Jens Soltenberg’s biog on his time as NATO Sec Gen).

I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

So, Calibri out, Times New Roman in. I would have though Comic Sans was more appropriate?

What evidence is there that uplands like this were once covered by temperate rainforest, and would return to such a state naturally but for sheep?
