Men like this are transphobes because they are, deep down, misogynists. They simply believe they are better than women at everything, and in trans women they have found a group it is alright to descriminate against. This man believes cis women are his physical inferiors, and needs you to know that.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.
He is a computer safety researcher.
And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.
In under 1600 words.

Theresa May, the buffoon of "Brexit means Brexit", was to the left of Keir Starmer on trans rights.
That's the kind of fact that mainstreaming bigotry forces us to recognise.
That's the kind of fact that mainstreaming bigotry forces us to recognise.
The ability of the far right to insist that their views - trans people are lying perverts, climate change is a hoax, immigrants are all thieving, raping scum - are necessarily legitimate & must be given a hearing is already a vast victory for forms of extremism beyond the pale not long ago.
What bothers me is that impartiality and balance are two different and incompatible things. Impartiality means that you don't intervene to put your thumb on the scales. Balance necessarily requires that you intervene to artificially make every issue look like a 50/50.

Out my window is a bus lane, where you aren't supposed to park until 10 am on weekdays. Every morning a bunch of selfish gits park there anyway, because they live in zone 2 London but have to drive for some reason.
Hundreds of people on buses are being stalled rn so 4 wankers can drive for coffee.

Absolutely embarrassing to be making this case as the bubble is set to burst and after the release of studies showing that using AI makes you learn less, but maybe I am just mad that the plagerism machine stole all my work.
NEW on Wonkhe: There are legitimate use-cases for AI that deliver efficiency, but for Nick Jennings and Sam Grogan the real prize is active development of AI learning partnership skills buff.ly/UriccMh

And how that bravery and sacrifice is being eraced.

In the most respectful way, I love Justin and this message is so important: how about we work with young people. And help them. Laugh with them - and too many adults need to put the damn phones down and just talk
'AI things' are bad for young people and their mental health discourse 💯. However that discourse also produces 'yp are in constant crisis', 'yp have no resources', 'all online things are bad for yp'. Like 'hello'. If you're not interested in resourcing yp at least point them in the right direction

don't remember if I've mentioned this before. tell anyone you see using Google to do this.
hiding "actually do what I asked" is another expression of the paternalistic techbro mindset that gives you "yes" or "not now" options for an unwanted new feature or only lets you hide something "for a while"

This is in no way apologism for Google but click Search Tools and select "Verbatim". It makes it work how you expect

This is remarkable because Patrick and Gabriel quote Watson directly in their first book explaining how the much-vaunted but probably criminal “Labour whistleblowers” BBC Panorama bullshit came directly from him, as a stunt he personally orchestrated and forced on the public as a terrifying scandal.
