(Woody Allen eating a Da Bomb wing on Hot Ones)

WOODY: Boy, that's like dating your first Gentile girl, there's a real sting to it. Wowee, that's hotter than a New York cab in August. Havin' flop sweat like after the Curse of the Jade Scorpion premiere.

SEAN: Was it weird marrying your daughter?

I'm sorry the guy changing the rules on the fly is named what
I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Howard County chose dignity, accountability, and its people. Tune into our event now:

top schumering lately. his party's supporters want ICE abolished; he proposes ICE being reformed, & then those reforms are a bunch of half-measures like the agents not wearing masks, & then he waters that down until we land on the agents not wearing masks unless they say they have a reason. 10/10
Chuck Schumer says ICE should be allowed to wear masks in "unusual circumstances—you know, some guy's picture was put up by a terrorist group or something."

Love how the presumption here is that the President doesn't know what he's sharing and that's fine and normal.

Sorry, no, if the President doesn't know what he's sending out then that is indisputable proof of gross incompetence, cognitive unfitness, or both.
The New York Times has finally covered the Trump video of Obama as an ape — and they are still providing cover for him. Fuck the Times.

the biden border bill and choosing to run on a “border patrol endorsed” piece of legislation should go down as not only cowardly and backward thinking but one of the worst strategic political decisions by democrats in recent memory, everyone involved should be out of politics forever
New Quinnipiac poll:

63% of voters disapprove of ICE

60% want ICE out of Minneapolis

58% want Kristi Noem removed from office

Ending billionaireism isn't just socially and economically necessary to maintain human civilization, it's a humanitarian measure for the billionaires themselves. They're clearly very sick and we can help them

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

Schumer doing us a favor here. Making it crystal clear he will not help us. We ignore or rationalize his message at our peril. He, Jeffries et al must be swept aside on the path to power. Thanks for absolutely nothing Chuck.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

NYT, once again, humanizing the worst people on this planet. Never learned from the Tony Hovater incident. The time spent on this article could have been spent featuring the people who actually care about their communities instead of people intent on destroying them for clicks and clout.
As an influencer, Nick Shirley had struggled to expand his reach. But after a missionary trip pushed him to try a new approach, he caused a sensation with a video claiming to expose fraud at Somali-run day care centers in Minnesota. nyti.ms/45GzJi4

this stuff has really broken me. it's simply astounding that so many people who have been allowed to amass unimaginable wealth are so droolingly stupid, so unmoored from and in fact hostile to any sense of community or social responsibility, and oh by the way they love to constantly rape children

74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting it, according to YouGov polling from last month.

Weak calls for "reform" are coming from *elected* Democrats like Chuck, not the average Democratic voter.

A human writer uses a dash to set off a relatively abrupt jump in thought. But the machines are constantly calculating the most predictable next thing to say, plodding around the same area. So the machine dash looks like it's gesturing toward something new, only to always land on something obvious.
At first I didn't understand why people were holding forth about how an em dash—a totally normal and human piece of punctuation—was an obvious tell that an AI wrote something. But eventually I figured it out.
That's not just an em dash—it's the AI Voice em dash

Not really sure an issue should be described as split if it's essentially 60-40. Or that the lead quote should be from the 40 side. Or that said quote should insinuate that Puerto Ricans are not American.

People say we can't compare this to the Third Reich because of the atrocities but we only found out about the atrocities after the fact when it was all said and done and we're not done with this yet so I am sure the worst stomach churning shit has yet to be revealed.
ICYMI: The US is currently holding three times as many people in immigrant detention as were detained in the Nazi concentration camp system in spring 1939 — six years into the Third Reich, and just before the start of World War II.

Epstein is the most garish and harrowing manifestation of this but oligarchy makes life miserable in a thousand other ways. A core point of democracy is that no one should have so much power that they can make themselves everybody's problem. We should have a political party that believes that
The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll
