Hundreds of Starbucks baristas and labor organizers blockaded Starbucks' largest distribution center in York, Pennsylvania, halting distribution of syrups, coffee beans, and other supplies to the entire northeast.

This escalation is part of @sbworkersunited.org's ongoing strike.

I'm currently reading a very heavy tome on the biography of Martha Graham. In one chapter, the writer talks about how she came out to Cornish to teach dance. At the very same studio I take my ballet classes!

I stopped by Trader Joe's, and I can tell those employees do not give a single fuck about your purchases anymore. And honestly? It's a relief. I'd rather they tell me the store gossip instead.

Having a coffee and bagel at the coffee kiosk, and they're playing old Childish Gambino. That shit makes me feel 21 all over again

The fun of having a sister who lives half way across the world is that we like to drop random memes to the other in the off hours. we both wake up to funny stuff in our DMs. It's a treat to have a sister as funny as mine.

One of the cruelest tricks society played on creative people was planting the idea that being proud of your work is somehow unseemly and egotistical.

You made a thing! You like it! You SHOULD be proud of it. Brag all you want!

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and I had a back breaking day of poster distribution. I probably put up over 200 posters. I have no brains left, or arm strength. 😭

Child care is not a “goodie.” Child care is a necessity.

You never see editorial boards calling highways or police forces “goodies.” Why? Smells like misogyny to me!
this is a rich (ha) text but I'm especially losing my mind at "she seeks to force residents of Seattle to pay for “free” child care and other goodies"

like man, a person thought up that sentence and allowed it to leave their brain? and other people allowed it to go to print?
You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.

It came out pretty delicious. I pulled the chicken, and let it rest on the board while veg browned under the broiler. It was perfect.
I am roasting a chicken that I soaked overnight in buttermilk. It's sitting on a bed of veg covered in olive oil, salt, and fresh herbs from my garden. I hope it comes out delicious 🙏🏻

We order from our neighborhood thai restaurant on a regular basis, and I love that they just send the grandpa over to deliver our meals. He usually drives over from 5 blocks away, waves in our apartment window when he arrives, and gives us the update on the neighborhood.

Today when riding the bus back to my neighborhoor, we passed a stop populated with K-8 kids. The bus whizzed passed, and the kids all screamed in horror. Everyone on the bus asked why the driver didn't stop, and he informed us another bus was directly behind him. I couldn't stop laughing
