Jesus fucking holy hell.

This is what you should get loud about. If you have any Republican representatives, call them now -and repeatedly. Do what you can to stop this from passing.

This is a nightmare.

It's great when conservitives talk about being censored, but its never their opinions on spending, or infrastructure that get "censored"

They just want to be racist without consequence.

It passed. Be careful if you ever visit Kansas. Call your representatives. There'll be more of this spreading to other states.
Update: The Trans bathroom bounty hunter bill in Kansas has just passed the Kansas House.

They have rushed it to the Senate for passage.

If it passes, the most extreme anti-trans bill in the nation is about to be sent to the Governor's desk.

The key phrase here is "... and stop censoring conservatives"

As with the cry "Don't Tread on Me," they're not advocating for anti-censorship for everyone. Just them.

Don't fall for it.

Wishing folks would support the 1st Amendment as vociferously as the 2nd. Hidden behind a facade of protecting children, this measure will give too much control to the government.

Please continue to contact your representatives and urge them to:

-oppose age verification laws
-rescind existing AV laws
-protect peoples rights to use VPNs
-protect section 230
The failure of age-verification laws is now turning into a War on VPNs. The British government and a number of US states are now proposing that VPNs be banned entirely, or only accessible to those who have surrendered to facial scans, ID check and other identity verification.

Critics are warning against proposals to restrict VPN access — but will the plans actually become law?

Y'all in the US better drag your representatives and fucking make them understand that any repeal of section 230 is a redline that they can't fucking cross.
Some believe Section 230 will be safe from February’s internet bills week in the Senate, arguing petty differences will stall legislation or prior convictions will remain true. Paul here shows the opposite, it is a major problem that a libertarian-ish conservative fears S230 is too lenient
In this edition of ManBabies Making Laws, Senator Rand Paul appears to have suddenly abandoned his long held defense of the 1st amendment and Section 230 (perhaps his only redeeming quality?) because ...

he's mad about a YouTube video about him.

As a Canadian, I have no power to prevent this, but if you’re from the US, please call your Senators and reps and tell them to protect and reinforce Section 230!

Been seeing a steady uptick in people wanting to repeal section 230, and that it is not good.

I think these censorship bills have a higher chance than ever of being passed, partially because some Liberals are so out of touch, or now view it as good because of X, etc.

We gotta beat these.

KOSA, the Kids Online Safety Act, may sound like a good thing, but it would have the effect of blocking from teens access to information and community related to LGBTQ+ topics by means of selective enforcement.

Alaska Dem State Rep. Ted Eischeid supports it though:
