I know this will sound dumb, but it was an incredible discovery to me (non Catholic, baptized Protestant, long time unbeliever) that the Catholics have a magic item in every church that is the LITERAL presence of Christ?
But it is the same concept as transubstantiation, so I should have realized?

Also, now several times, they turned away priests asking to perform mass for people in ICE facilities.
In one case - all new info to me - the priest brought the monstrance (great name) from the church, but was still turned away. The monstrance, Catholics believe, is the literal presence of Christ
