The NZ government prepares a major attack on Māori rights today.

The Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) (Customary Marine Title) Amendment Bill had its third reading today.

This law is UNJUST for three reasons:

No they didn't. The UN security council was made of UK, France, SU, USA and ROC. All of whom immediately broke those international laws as soon as they were inconvenient. History literally shows that rule of law is the greatest con job in world history.

Nationalism and its myths are a poison on the mind.

I see a Historian and delusional people have decided Churchill was against Fascism despite embracing Franco. Despite being mostly good with Mussolini. Despite his own actions and views having seeds of Fascism in them. He was not an Antifascist, not by then or today’s standards.

“rule of law” is that in which fascism arises. Lawfare is the first weapon of the fascist, the gas chamber the last. This is why you need abolish the rule of law in order to defeat fascism. And this rule of law you talk about has allowed countless genocides since the Holocaust. They were all legal

Anyway, fascists want to kill me and mine.

So, the question of violent vs non-violent resistance to fascism is a strictly tactical question, not a moral one. I come down mostly on the non-violent direct action side, but do not fucking tut-tut and moralise at those who think differently.

That’s true but if you want to do anything about it you do need to be anarchist. Game theory that shit run it around for a couple hundred successive iterations whoops fascism is back. See: the world 100 years after fascism was invented

I know a man whose grandfather was nearly executed for fighting Franco. His mother lived her childhood on the run and so he is explicitly an anarchist taught through the generational knowledge of anarchism and antifascism. We have the same principles. It’s not that far removed.

If you’re saying “your antifascism is asking too much of figures of the past” I would just say that my anarchist antifascist principles don’t meaningfully differ much from those held by the CNT FAI et al

Anarchism as a living movement was there for Franco as we are here for Trump. Franco was much worse and more dogmatically fascist. Modern fascism is more malleable but is still operationally definable and able to be understood and monitored which is what antifascists like myself do.

His views on Jews in the Holocaust are also horrendous and, close to outright endorsement of it. His position being they should’ve resisted nonviolently and taken what was done to them, to expose the Nazis. I’m condensing it, but his logic was an aid to Fascism.

Ghandi thought that he could simply reason Hitler out of starting WWII. He wrote him letters asking him to reject violence etc. I mean, c’mon.

To be sure, he was a great independence activist, but he did not understand fascism. Not someone we should be looking to right now.

There’s a bunch of Ghandi wannabes on this website who would rather see people killed and brutalized for photos, than keeping people safe as can be. They’re as much loose cannons and living in a fantasy as they are least likely to bear the brunt of the Fascists. This is reality not sanitized fiction

Antifascism is an ideology. One cannot be antifascist some of the time and then do race based atrocities the rest of the time. The segregated U.S. army wasn’t antifascist despite shooting Nazis. Just like an American cop arresting a proud boy isn’t suddenly antifascist.

Your Nationalism is not Antifa.

Winston Churchill was not Antifa.
General Patton was not Antifa.
Your favorite Nationalist was not Antifa.
That’s literally the point.

Churchill was a genocidal colonist who literally oversaw concentration camps in Africa
Patton was an open racist and white power supporter.

It’s sad seeing y’all center right reactionaries unable to accept historic fact.

The latest tactic in Trump's cruel anti-immigrant agenda? Depriving people of life-saving medical care.

After being interrogated by CBP in an airport for five days, Paramjit Singh — a Sikh man from India battling a brain tumor and a heart condition — was rushed to the ER for a medical emergency.

One lady thing to this thread: over a year ago now, these same types were silent or outright shitting on students being brutalized for standing against genocide and Fascism. They can wax poetic about their fantasies of protest, but they throw people to the wolves quick. Beware.
