It's incredibly corrosive to the ability of agencies (and society at large) to operate if the executive branch can simply decide to ignore Congress. Having reliable processes is essential to operations of bureaucracies, but Vought et al. don't care. And it's outrageous.

And 'GOP Majority unable to whip sufficient votes to pass budget favored by President' is mysteriously off the table. The hidden assumption is that only Dems have a duty to govern, the actual ruling party gets a pass for failing to govern. Absurd!
Note the framing here:

It’s “Democrats have refused to fund” DHS and not “Republicans refused to prohibit face masks” or “the two parties could not agree on how to reform the agency.”

This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

How do you know you are absolutely going to hell? Despite skyrocketing revenue, you're the guy on the for-profit prison shareholder call complaining they STILL haven't caged enough brown people for maximum $$$$$
🚨 For-profit prison company:

“CoreCivic’s revenue from contracts with ICE skyrocketed in 2025, but some participants on today’s quarterly earnings call expressed concerns that ICE had not detained as many immigrants as investors hoped.”

If the government can take away your voting rights for a felony conviction, and they also decide what constitutes a felony, and they also decide who’s charged with the felony, and they also decide who’s prosecuted for the felony, you don’t have a right to vote.
Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger endorsed a constitutional amendment to automatically restore voting rights to people with felony convictions when they leave prison. State lawmakers passed the amendment and it will now appear on the state ballot.

The reverse coattail effect could help them out especially with the new Georgia Democratic Party chair at the helm (Charlie Bailey).

“A year into Trump’s term, voters say Biden was better.”

Trump’s net approval on the economy is now -18. That’s 26 points worse than this point in his first term and a brutal 53 points lower among independents.

The other night on Jeopardy, two players were tied going into final. The woman in third made a small wager and her answer was, "I hope they both bet everything." They both did, all three got it wrong, and she won. As if that wasn't already hilarious enough, turns out it was all a master plan!
Okay but she posted on Reddit after the broadcast that she realized partway through Double Jeopardy that this was her only way to win, and started deliberately picking clues/buzzing in to maximize the odds that they would be tied going into Final. Absolute galaxy brain.
