Everyone knows about Ahmed al-Ahmad, the Syrian Muslim migrant who took down one gunman. Another man, a Middle Eastern refugee, ran into a firefight and kicked the gun away from the other gunman. Police shot him, and bystanders kicked him in the head while he was down, thinking he was the terrorist.

Part of what hurts at the moment is how we can't fully centre our Jewish community in their own tragedy because we have people salivating at the necks of our Muslim neighbours. Grieving properly is hardly possible when you know there are knives out.

A future with useful AI does not include generative models as we understand them now. But to get there, we'd need to put down late-stage capitalism... and disincentivise those benefiting from our creep toward doom. Alas, we won't even get our video games on time because of these freaks.

What this underscores is a fundamental truth that while none of the rest of us need supremacists in our spaces, and are just fine without them, supremacists need the rest of us or they collapse against each other. Without them we're fine. Without us they've got nothing.

Ahmed El Ahmed is a hero and emblematic of what I want this country to be. Hate, division, and oppression are the background noise of our daily lives. How do we be more like Ahmed? How do we share in community just like the victims were before they were targeted? How do we show up for each other?

The social media ban is just pre-emptive union busting. Atomizing and isolating kids before they gain consciousness and learn how to organise collectively. The youth movements in this country have been too powerful, and Albanese knows it.

Just a friendly reminder that Channel 7's Sunrise helped resurrect Pauline Hanson's career. In 2016, Hanson was paid to appear on Sunrise at least 16 times. She then successfully re-entered politics in the federal election that year, resurrecting the One Nation party. Thanks Kochie and Sam!
