I know the WH demolition feels like a 1,000 news cycles ago, but let’s not forgot how batshit this is.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is stepping up to fight this reckless project.

It's not about one building. It's about stopping a man who thinks our history is his to bulldoze.
National Trust sues to stop Trump’s ballroom construction
The organization, which is charged by Congress with historic preservation, is seeking to halt construction on one of the president’s priorities.

Trump sent Vance there twice. He threatened to cut off all federal spending to the state. He vowed to back primary challengers of any Republican who voted against him here. He posted their names online, prompting his fans to send them death threats.

But all that failed, so now he wasn't involved.
Reporter: The senate in Indiana voted against the redistricting effort.

Trump: I wasn't working on it very hard. I wasn't very much involved

As Syndrome might say, "if everyone is Time's Person of the Year, then no one is."
The odds are decent that morsels from your life have been used to train chatbots. Which means that you, too, are Time's person of the year, @cwarzel.bsky.social writes.

I may be proven wrong about this, but I really think that one argument against AI ever replacing human actors and celebrities is the existence of the Kardashians. They don't do anything except exist, but they are real. And no one would give a shit otherwise.

Dear the media,

When the US president claims he brokered a peace deal in a place with active combat—eg Rwanda and Congo—the story is (1) fighting rages on, and (2) US president lies.

The story is not “president touts historic peace deal.” A peace deal involves peace.

Sincerely,
