Yesterday, I visited three organizations that’ve been directly impacted by ICE’s terror campaign.

At American Roots, an apparel company that employs new Mainers, I was amazed to see so many people showing up to work—despite the ever-present threat of ICE.

Their bravery is so inspiring. (1/5)

Arresting journalists for doing their job is a chilling abuse of power—and an assault on the very idea of a free press.

The Admin is clearly trying to intimidate the media from documenting their lawlessness.

Two different courts refused to greenlight charges. That’s how absurd the DOJ’s case is.

Threatening peaceful observers.

Detaining immigrants who here legally.

Only providing information to partisan news outlets like Fox over members of Congress.

Operation “Catch of the Day” has brought nothing but fear, anxiety, and terror to our state.

As if their heinous abductions and violence against peaceful protestors weren’t awful enough, ICE is spending billions of dollars (made possible by the Big Ugly Bill) on high-tech surveillance tools—many of which are clearly unconstitutional in scope.

Biometric trackers, cellphone location databases and drones are among the surveillance technologies agents are using in their immigration enforcement campaign.

ICE's presence in our state is has been extremely stressful and traumatizing for so many. But Mainers have shown up every single day to protect their neighbors, get kids to school, put food on tables, and speak up for what’s right.

I cannot independently confirm this announcement because the Department of Homeland Security has not provided my office with basic information about this operation, despite repeated requests for weeks. (1/7)

While ICE's terror remains top of mind, this can't be ignored:

The Admin ordered the removal of exhibits across at least 17 national parks that reference climate change and the mistreatment of Native Americans.

These parks aren't propaganda sites. They're classrooms, archives, and living records.

Francoise Makuiza came to the U.S. legally—with a visa, after fleeing genocide in the DRC and awful treatment in Colombia.

She’s lived here for 12 years, raising her children and working at an assisted living facility.

She has no criminal record.

On Friday, Francoise was abducted by ICE. (1/2)

They lied about Renee.

They lied about Alex.

They’re lying about how many of the people they’re abducting are criminals.

Lie after lie after lie.

They’re also ridiculous hypocrites—violating people’s constitutional rights after screaming for years about *their* rights being violated.

It's sick.

People are afraid to go to work. Afraid to send their kids to school. To even leave their house.

Enough with ICE’s lawless bullshit!
January 27, 2026 at 2:23 PM
ICE is totally out of control. Killing observers, gassing protestors, threatening people for daring to record their abhorrent behavior.

It’s NOT serving its purpose, it’s NOT enforcing the law, and it’s NOT respecting our rights.

All options are on the table—starting with no more taxpayer dollars.

Unless you’re Native American, you’re an immigrant.

We are and have always been a nation of immigrants. It’s what made us the most inventive, productive, and dynamic country in the history of the world.

We cannot pull the ladder up behind us.

Last night’s plane crash at BIA is a tragedy for our state. Seven lives have been lost. Another is seriously injured. It's truly heartbreaking.

My thoughts are with the families, loved ones, first responders, and airport staff navigating this painful moment.

We're holding you all in our hearts.

Immigrants make up 4% of Maine’s population. An overwhelming majority are here legally—and have the documentation to prove it.

Mainers (and our Somali community especially) are being targeted by this Administration for no reason other than racism and retribution.

ICE’s campaign of terror must end.

I was a HELL NO on funding Homeland Security when the house voted on it last week. That unfortunately passed.

But the Senate now has an opportunity to block the bill and demand changes and accountability to a completely out of control agency.

Not a PENNY more for ICE.

Alex Pretti was a VA ICU nurse. Colleagues remember him as kind, warm, and caring.

He was a beloved son, brother, friend, and neighbor.

ICE agents murdered him in cold blood. In broad daylight.

And then they had the gall—the sheer, evil audacity—to call *him* a domestic terrorist. (1/3)

On my way to Lewiston for the No ICE protest, but I’ve been watching the breaking news out of Minneapolis, where federal agents have shot and killed another person.

I’ve seen the video and it’s horrific.

This violent occupation has to end. ICE needs to GET OUT of MN and GET OUT of Maine.

I’m so sad to hear that Ginny Oliver—known as the Lobster Lady—has passed away at the age of 105.

She was a true Mainer: salt of the Earth, hardworking, kind beyond words. I got to meet her a few years ago. Hearing her stories, seeing the passion she had for her work—it was an amazing experience.

ICE is using intimidation, harassment, and fear tactics against peaceful observers and protesters.

It is NOT illegal to record or observe ICE activity. Period.

Showing up at observers’ homes, calling their cell phones, and putting people on a “domestic terrorism” list are gross abuses of power.
January 23, 2026 at 5:26 PM
It’s been a terrible week for our state. Noem and her lawless secret police are terrorizing Mainers, detaining lawful permanent residents, denying people due process, and causing widespread fear and chaos in our communities.

We need answers. We need accountability. And we need ICE OUT OF MAINE.

ICE’s Maine operation is a disaster. They’re terrorizing families, threatening observers, and acting outside their stated scope.

I’m demanding answers to critical questions including:

🔴 How many have been taken pursuant to VALID warrants?
🔴 How many have documentation?
🔴 Where are they being held?

For months, we’ve been hearing stories about ICE forcefully entering people’s homes without a judicial warrant.

Now we know why: DHS gave them the green light.

This is a clear and egregious violation of the 4th Amendment.

No wonder DHS tried to keep this under wraps. They knew it was illegal.

I am furious. Sickened. Outraged beyond words.

ICE detained this 5-year-old boy in Minnesota—then USED HIM AS BAIT.

His family has an active asylum case. They came through a legal port of entry. They are not criminals.

This isn't "law enforcement." It's cruelty for cruelty’s sake.
