Meta going more Trumpian, globally.
🤞 marginalised community groups have exit plans.

"In this latest purge, it blocked abortion hotlines in countries where abortion is legal, banned queer and sex-positive accounts in Europe, and removed posts with even non-explicit, cartoon depictions of nudity."
Meta shuts down global accounts linked to abortion advice and queer content
More than 50 organisations report sites being restricted or removed, with abortion hotlines blocked and posts showing non-explicit nudity triggering warnings

My latest blog post is a bit of writing news to share...

TL;DR: I've signed with @ajvanbelle.bsky.social to develop a very special children's picture book. Longtime fans will be able to guess the subject from the image below! 👻

Huge thanks to A.J. for taking a chance on me, my art, and words 💜

Childhood is primetime for developing creativity. It's usually when a person takes their first, wobbly steps into getting their imaginations down on paper.

Redirecting that into typing prompts feels genuinely defiling.

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

The way the sloppers pretend their organized theft is just as taxing as actual art is genuinely pathetic.
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

By reposting a terrible AI thing a million times to dunk on it, you are giving it as much attention as if it was getting reposted a million times because it is fantastic. The people who made the slop don't care. They've accomplished their goal of going viral 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is your casual reminder that executive orders are not laws.

EOs are directives meant to manage the operations of the federal government. Not state governments.

The states that even deign to acknowledge this are the ones who actively WANT to. No one's forcing them.
BREAKING: Trump says he will sign an executive order this week that will limit states’ ability to regulate AI.

Seriously, this.

In researching which trans charity to give to for this work thing, the same small handful of names kept coming up again and again and again on the anti- side. This isn't a mass movement, it's fewer than 20 persistent, moderately rich arseholes backed by one extremely rich arsehole.
It's hard not to conclude that everything that's currently wrong with Western society up to and including the rise of the far right can be traced back to a handful of absurdly rich people who were unhappy that someone on the internet had the temerity to disagree with them.
