There's no such thing as #1 Pinned Post🧵 to rule them all, but I shall post it nonetheless. It'll be gay, neurodiverse & beyond the binary.

For those who wander but are not lost & ponder "what if"?

It'll contain my books of the above, Final Fantasy +Narnia inspired, &invite All Writers to Discord👇
Left: Walking the Knife's Edges cover. Rarkin stands in foreground, wearing leather jacket and jeans, holding a stun gun raised to shoot to the left.

Miona stands on the right, smiling and with boxing gloved fists raised, ready to fight.

They both stand on a grassy slope, a patchwork of Farm Zone paddocks, fields and tree lined streams behind them, to a cloud covered horizon through which the yellow glow of the sun shines.

Text below cover: Make or break. Friends or fail. Monster containment.

Right: Ruarnon Trilogy Graphic with map background and a box of key points for each book.

Book 1, Manipulator's War: red glyph archway frames a smoky night sky, with fire arrows raining down on battlements on which a few torches burn. Ruarnon leans on a spear (left foreground), wearing fitted bronze armour and holding a bronze helmet.

Book 1 Text: Mystery, aro-arces, autism & ADHD, friendship.

Book 2, Secrets of the Sorcery War: blue glyph arch frames two extremely tall cliffs, through which a sailing ship sails across bright blue waters into sunlight.

Book 2 Text: monsters, forgotten weapons, adventure.

Book 3, War in Sorcery's Shadow: purple glyph arch frames a black cloudy sky, down from which a bolt of lightening strikes a shield around brown, crystaline towers of a castle. Castle sits atop barren plains of dead trees, a skull lying in foreground.

Book 3 text: resistance, secret organisations, save a mind & the world.

The actual impacted young people who have spoken intelligently and insightfully to committee making more bloody sense than most of the adults in Canberra, seriously we should lower the voting age and prioritise safety by holding tech companies accountable on the safety of their ‘products’
davidshoebridge.bsky.social
Leo Puglisi from @6newsau.bsky.social gave evidence to the parliamentary inquiry on the social media age ban - I asked him about the real impacts on young people. This isn't about protection, it's about control. You can't lock kids out of news and social connection and call it safety.

This is under a so-called left wing government, and from a political party that had its roots in actually giving a shit about workers. Sounds to me like the system-error cancelled payments are Labour's Robodebt.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
(Aussie news.) "Privately, Labor MPs acknowledge there is a need to scrap the entire system. It doesn’t need more reviews – the entire punitive job-seeker system is broken, and has been consistently revealed to be such, which is not because it is corrupted but because it was established that way."
daverino.bsky.social
"mutual obligations – the system by which we set (through private “job providers”) demeaning & useless tasks for unemployed people..to receive their welfare – is documented to cause harm, with little evidence it actually does anything to..get people into work"
www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...
Shame and harm at every JobSeeker turn – and now added AI slop
The system is so convoluted and stacked against people that even if it worked as intended, it would still be not just harmful, but useless.

Ditto to ABA 'therapy' for autistic kids. It's abuse and only teaches them to mask which will have highly negative mental health impacts later, like suicide.
thegodpodcast.com
"Conversion therapy" is a polite name for something that isn’t conversion and isn’t therapy. It’s abuse.

I'd forgotten coloured folders. That definitely helped, and a dot beside it is no substitute at all.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
Its the clutter factor. Physical or digital clutter bothers me just as much as too bright lights or too loud sounds. I hate websites where its all colour and words crammed together, with little white space. Its like white space lets my brain breathe. Too many files/ in too many folders jams my brain
eliseswritings.bsky.social
Same. For writing/ reading/ viewing.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
That reminds me how many how many 'untitled' files I used to have. Those were even worse!
eliseswritings.bsky.social
I'm saying its just a few human authors publishing at that pace. The rest is all you.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
As far as I'm concerned, ICE is a state sponsored terrorist organisation.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
That's a shame. Takes all the fun out of writing and makes it about pressure and deadlines.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
Nah, you're not thinking literally enough. I mean there's a couple of people who said they publish at a similar rate. So 'fringe' as in literal border between human authors and ai in terms of frequency of books out.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
People have been taken to court, successfully, for it in Australia. And the I understand it, thats not the worst thing that p.o.s. has done to trans women.

Somehow I made it work for 20 years, but now my publishing files are elsewhere and I don't know where to migrate a draft I haven't yet published from... time to cull and regroup!
eliseswritings.bsky.social
☝️ My filing circa 2000-2020 (I got more organised with publishing files from 2022 onwards).

I'm really noticing in culling files how I'd get overstimulated/ overloaded, shove everything out of sight, then start again. Its nice to have the time, when not overloaded by work, to sort EVERYTHING.
eliseswritings.bsky.social
You know you're a writer who has ADHD when...

3 different folders for same trilogy
3 different folders for same series
1 folder of files dumped on my desktop for 2 years, then shoved in a folder.

'Recent versions' of what?
Which 'unfinished stories'? 😂
*yes more files were elsewhere, at random 😉

Some of the stuff they play doesn't grab me, and that's when I switch to the national broadcaster's 'young people' station (Triple J). I'm a decade past their demographic, but who's counting 😉
eliseswritings.bsky.social
My MG fantasy is I think between 45-55k, also pushing the limit 😉

Same. I'm so damned lucky I got to travel so much before 2020. I have managed one trip to New Zealand since, but I don't know if I'll make it further from Australia than that now. If I do, I'd probably site see every second day, and rest the whole day for every first.
