What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

Not perfect, but some great songs. (I liked Young Modern more 😉)

Rush
Ride
Turn of tide

Adventure by day
Play it away

Wandering nights
In forests of starlight

Chase through time
Spirit enticing mind

Catch the uplift
In cosmic drift

Circle the past
Enjoying present at last

Then buckle up
As future beckons
And its time to employ
All your life's lessons.

Excitement
Inspiration
Desire
Across nations

Not dark of night
Nor fall of man
No collapse of will
We take a stand

Insist on knowledge
Safeguard truth
Set fire to lies
Unleash the youth

Turn back time
For reason & rime
Prosecute crime

We try
In this desolate space
To resurrect
The human race

I've been doing this for years and it's wonderful
If you have ADHD & you have a whirl-windy day where you magically get things done, I highly suggest doing a “reverse to-do list”.

Write down everything you did like it’s a to-do list you need to do, then give yourself the satisfaction of crossing it off!

Mine is 15 items long & I feel amazing.

Less than $700 away from our goal. Thank you to everyone who has supported us!

Please consider donating $5 to help us reach that mark !
Imagine not having a place to shower. Days without being able to get clean. Nowhere to go.
We already have the shower trailer. We just need a truck to haul it so we can bring free showers and dignity to people in NJ.
We are only a few hundred dollars short. Every dollar helps.

LNP on climate change action: "In 25 years' time, there will be technologies that we're not talking about today." [I mean, its not like solar, wind, geothermal or any of that exists, so we can't do it 🤪]

Translation: fossil fuels forever!

Me: RIP LNP. You're already dead. You just can't see it yet
Conservatives win this one, but it could lose them the war

Seems a good time for a Diverse Bsky Guide. This includes accessibility tips, feeds to help LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodiverse & disabled people connect, & diverse writer chats & book feeds.

It also introduces BlackSky, NorthSky, Turtle.sky & EuroSky and account migration options as federation gears up

If you've ever doubted you're 'disabled enough', or struggled to advocate for yourself as a disabled person, or if you'd like to know more about ableism; this blog post is for you.
“She explained how much Covid could hurt her & how vulnerable it felt to be unable to wear a mask to protect herself.

She was a perfect example of why other people need to wear masks even if they don’t personally think Covid will hurt them”

“In summary, our large-scale multi-ancestry GWAS provides a map of the genetic architecture of fibromyalgia, identifying 26 risk loci and providing robust genetic validation of the notion that fibromyalgia is primarily a central nervous system disorder,” the researchers concluded.

As a teacher I very much second this. Whether its a difference of wealth & privilege, or ethnicity, language & culture, neurodivergence or neurotypical, disabled or able bodied, and queer or cishet; living with difference gives kids their best chance to be excellent humans.
Aside from safety and gentleness, the biggest thing I think kids need is contact with people who are different to them. This is why private schools are such crocs of shit - these kids never learn that other kids aren't as well off as they are, never have to confront their own privilege.

Finished my first read on my new Kobo, this one👇by @shimaira.com. Its outside of my wheelhouse on account of the slow-burn, erotic, horror, kink & blood drinking parts 😂, yet I read it to the end 😄. (The queer and polyam parts were fine 😉).
So if you're looking for a challenging read; pick this one.
🔞 MY LORD: a queer, slow-burn erotic gothic horror novel about rediscovering yourself after trauma—with kinky, blood-drinking immortals & polyamory.

Today I learnt the word 'protestival' and I love it. Alas, this one is in Newcastle NSW, and too far away for me to attend.

Which is a shame, because with a concert and beach activities, while blocking coal ships, it sounds like a fun wake up call for our fossil fuel addicted gov (either party).

When you see this it's easy to feel powerless, but you're not.

If you can, change electric supplier to 100% renewable energy. Get solar if you own your home. Make your next car electric.

Stop buying fossil fuels where you can. Don't give them your money!
