In Norse mythology, the robin was known as the 'storm cloud bird' and was sacred to Thor, the god of thunder, lightning, and storms. This likely stemmed from its red coloring, which was linked to the color of lightning or the fire associated with Thor.

There's a post over on Twitter that I've been laughing to myself about. Some right-wing guy is celebrating that a school took down "All-Gender" bathroom signs and replaced them with "Single Occupancy Restroom" signs. And like... it's the same thing, man. You're celebrating a pointless relabeling.

Those that lament Chicago’s low ranking in the annual list of bike-friendly cities should pipe down. A city that doesn’t give equal priority to clearing bike and car lanes can’t claim to be a bike-friendly city. This is Clybourn Avenue, which holds a protected bike lane corridor to Downtown.

Between 1927 and 1931 Faber produced The Ariel Poems – a series of seasonal, illustrated poetry pamphlets – sent to authors, friends and acquaintances in place of a Christmas card. There were 38 pamphlets made in the first series, with a further 8 printed when they were briefly brought back in 1954.
