Charging a Black journalist under the KKK Act for reporting on a protest is a whole new level of fucked up.

This was an invented moral panic. The NYT and Fox News ran more stories about trans people than the Advocate, an explicitly LGBTQ publication. It was the exact same story in the UK. The media fanned the flames of a moral panic.
Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.

One of the reasons it’s a problem that Democrats keep ceding ground to transphobes is that it actually just helps conservatives get more votes by not contesting any of the transphobic shit that conservatives are using as a gateway message

Independent thinkers, legislators and journalists should not rely on the nyt as a primary source on trans issues. It puts its thumb on the scale in pernicious ways.

Trans people are facing a genocide. But communities under attack survive those who want us dead every single day. Queer communities survived genocides within living memory.

We care for each other. We create. We defy. We fight. No tyrant is invincible. Trans existence is.

This small bird says to shop small! Here’s some of my favorite indie bookstores (all can ship to you!)

Yu & Me Books: located in NYC’s Chinatown. Emphasis on immigrant stories.

Frugal Books: only Black-owned bookshop in MA.

@heartleafbooks.bsky.social - queer/trans owned, elevates queer voices.

They are literally firing all the judges they think might grant relief. They just fired a friend of mine a couple hours ago. They have no shame. The bastards want an assembly line for deportations and nothing more; rubber-stamping bootlickers who’ll yes’sir at every new diktat to deny.
Instead of hiring more immigration judges, the Department of Justice just posted an ad for "deportation judges." join.justice.gov

"ICE agents then surrounded the judge’s car and demanded everyone to exit the vehicle, threatening to smash in the windows if they did not comply."

The irony here is painful.

Alice Wong wrote a column for Vogue called Disability Visibility. You can still find all her writing for Vogue under her author name.

But *Disability Visibility* - also the name of the advocacy group she launched - has been erased.

Exactly how disabled people often are.
The new owners of Teen Vogue have already erased her column.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

It's an anthology of video game history outside the usual US perspective - an accessible & exciting panorama of different realities - and I'll pay 300 USD per article.

Please share :)

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Alex is a big reason why "The Bear" had such a compelling story early on and spoke about the levels of near poverty he was in working on that project due to underpay.

Even if he was "just a guy," though, this was no excuse for him being arrested at all.
