I had an incredible time this summer working with the Alfeld Greenhorns #Baseball Club in Germany. I was disappointed that my #German didn't return as much as desired, but working with the teams was the experience of a lifetime. Great times on & off the diamond with new friends who love this game.

I’m not a Nats fan, but this is deeply depressing. From local news in the Metro section, now to sports and international news, Jeff Bezos has absolutely gutted the Washington Post. I don’t see how it continues to exist.

Shutting the government down because the president’s thug army keeps murdering American citizens for no reason seems pretty reasonable, IMO!

Yeah, no. The WC is 4 degrees F and the wind is swirling like crazy. It's gonna be awhile before I go out. I can do it in stgaes later.
Repeating: NOW is a good time to shovel if you've switched from snow to sleet. 1-3" of sleet (which is many times heavier than snow) on top of this snow will make it MUCH harder to clear later.

Now I want a donut. Thanks.
Sleet is inevitable Sunday-freezing rain is what worries us.

Sleet bounces off trees & power lines. Freezing rain glazes them & that’s when outages become a risk. It's like a sprinkled donut (sleet) vs a glazed donut (freezing rain).

Freezing rain risk increases late afternoon, esp E/SE of Beltway

The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

It's -20F in the Twin Cities right now with a high of -9F forecast. It'd be a shame if the hotels & restaurants used their #MAGA promoted / SCOTUS protected rights to refuse business to #ICE agents for belief-related reasons.

Before diving into the tables, don’t skip the editorial notes 👀 The Spring 2026 edition brings refined layouts, simplified and renumbered tables, plus key additions and re-timings. A quick read makes the whole timetable clearer and easier to use. shorturl.at/lDSey

Back in ‘93 or ‘96 we had a storm like this in Laurel, MD. We ended up with a foot of stuff i could walk on. I basically cut cinder blocks out of it to clear the driveway. On the plus side, it made a killer snow fort for the kids.
For night owls: quick takeaways from latest models:
* Snow onset Sat: Probs after 8 or 9p, but still TBD
* Switch to sleet likely most of area Sun AM. LOTS of sleet poss.
* Freezing rain concern late Sun
* Storm to produce LOTS of frozen precip at unusually low temps; high impact, hazardous storm

This is a public health crisis. Lots of people on the streets need to be housed ASAP.
Not to be lost in the excitement of a potential snowstorm? A looong stretch of VERY cold weather starting Saturday.

Pictured are predicted daily highs and lows in D.C. by the American ensemble model. We're showing this instead of the European model, which tends to run too cold.

Imagine having a federal judge (several in fact), officially say you're a clown and GTFOHWTBS. Probably leave that off the CV, Ms. Halligan.
Lindsey Halligan, the loyalist President Donald Trump handpicked to prosecute his political enemies last year, has stepped down as the top federal prosecutor in eastern Virginia more than a month after she was formally disqualified from the position. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
U.S. attorney pretender Lindsey Halligan leaves office after judges force her out
It marks the culmination of her tumultuous, error-prone and legally illegitimate four-month stint as interim U.S. attorney.

The one and only time NATO has invoked Article 5 and waged collective defense was when they came to *our* aid after 9/11.

That's a fact, no matter how dumb our current president is. Just saying.
Trump: "The big fear I have with NATO is we spend tremendous amounts of money with NATO and I know we'll come to their rescue, but I just really do question whether or not they'll come to ours. Just saying."
