This is a professional account where I skeet in my capacity as a University of Illinois professor and in my areas of subject matter expertise or interest. The university does not pay me enough to be its spokesperson.
I want us all to remember that the TA at OU who is now the subject of a national media shitstorm is also *a graduate student who is learning how to teach.* Even if they made a mistake (they didn’t) they’re entitled to that on the way to getting better!

Hardly surprising…of any uni administration.
The thing I keep coming back to about this is it’s the OU administration coming out against… learning

The entirety of academic Women's and Gender Studies would be out of bounds if this is enforced. Distinguishing between sex and gender, then complicating what those things mean, is WGS 101.
