In our newest blog post, our SFTR member, Andrew, discusses the disability invisibility he's faced on transit, and what he envisions transit agencies and other riders can do to amend these accessibility challenges.

Ever wonder how BART tunneled under the streets of San Francisco?

Watch this film from our archives. Find the full version on our YouTube page!

Two Calweld oscillating tunnel-boring machines were used to bore twin mile-long tunnels between the Mission Street lines and the Market Street lines.

On the other hand, I've spoken to people who are totally tuned out and don't know what's happening in Minnesota. They vaguely know that ICE shot someone - but shootings kinda happen because you know America.

So... really it's up to you to increase the national cortisol levels even further.
Every day, several previous era earthshaking events happen. And the average is growing. Our national cortisol levels must be insane

A year after the Palisades fire, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass is fighting dense new housing near transit that would make the city more climate-friendly, claiming it would cost too much. Meanwhile, she's happy to toss more money at the Olympics: www.torched.la/burn-scars/ via @awalkerinla.bsky.social
Burn scars
It's remarkable, given our climate reality, that more neighborhoods were not lost one year ago. But truly engaging with that climate reality means we have to rethink the entire city at once

Remember when a professional rescue diver humilated Elon Musk publicly so Elon called the guy a pedophile and got taken to court for it? Well Elon is now the biggest distributor of child sexual abuse material in the world.

It's always projection with these guys.

Denial of that fact generated counter-myths: empty land, waste land, Manifest Destiny—and the slogan “nation of immigrants.” 🧵1/7

It may be hard to see now, but I'm telling you: he fundamental tenets of 21st-century competitive authoritarianism are the denial of climate change, the promotion of an economy based on fossil fuels, and the abrogation of human rights and the rule of law so as to manage tenets one and two.
For those thinking that climate change can take a back seat while this other geopolitical mess is addressed - think again. Climate change is in part why Greenland has become so attractive to Pumpkin and his lot. bbc.com/news/videos/...

"Secret police" is often misunderstood to mean a force that operates covertly, with all their operations secret.

But a secret police force's actions are often public. The secret part is hiding their identities, because they're breaking laws to hurt politically disfavored people, and fear reprisals.
