BART will run a Saturday schedule on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 19.

Saturday service means BART will open at 6am and close at midnight, and there is less frequency on the Yellow Line (service is every 20 minutes).

Everyone is looking back at 2016 and well, so are we!

2016 was a big year for BART. We were working hard to keep our aging legacy fleet of train cars running to address crowding while we waited for the very first new Fleet of the Future cars to arrive.

BART crews will be in the Transbay Tube the evening of Saturday, January 17, to replace lights in the tube. The work is scheduled to begin at 10pm and continue into the overnight hours.

Most of the work will be done during overnight hours when BART trains are not running.

Two Calweld oscillating tunnel-boring machines were used to bore twin mile-long tunnels between the Mission Street lines and the Market Street lines.

BART recently conducted an Emergency Operations tabletop exercise bringing together executive leadership, operations, public safety, and support departments to strengthen coordination and decision-making during complex incidents.

BART service has been restored to the Yellow Line between Concord and Orinda Stations.

A bus bridge has been established between Orinda and Concord Stations, with buses making stops at all impacted BART stations. Crews on scene are working to resolve the power issue.

BART service has stopped on the Yellow Line between Concord and Orinda stations due to a trackside power issue. A bus bridge has been requested between those two stations. We have major delays as a result and crews are on scene working to address the issue.

There is currently no service on the Yellow Line between the Pleasant Hill and Orinda stations due to an equipment problem on the trackway. Crews are on scene working on the issue which us causing major delays. A bus bridge has been requested.

This Sunday, January 11, crews will manage vegetation that could threaten our ability to provide service.

Service from 8am to 5pm will be reduced from two tracks to one near Hayward Station. Riders should expect delays of 20-25 minutes near the station. There will be no Green Line service Sunday.

BART is recovering from an earlier problem. There is a 10-minute delay on the San Francisco Line in the SFO, Millbrae, Daly City and East Bay directions due to an earlier equipment problem on the track between Daly City and Balboa Park.

BART no longer runs trains at reduced speed during the rain!

BART crews updated the train car braking profile software and made slight changes to train speeds at specific locations with a longitudinal slope and where data showed cars were experiencing high rates of wheel flats.

/r/bayarea noticed that @bart.gov is no longer "running trains at slower speeds due to wet weather!" I had been taking for granted that trains have been running well in the rain this season.

Alameda County and BART are hosting an Open House next Thursday, January 15 from 6pm to 8pm at REACH Ashland Youth Center to solicit community input on goals for a future TOD on the southwestern parking lots of Bay Fair Station in unincorporated Alameda County.

Earlier issues with parking payment via the iOS BART app have been resolved. All parking payment options are once again working.
Parking payment via the BART app and website is experiencing intermittent issues. Riders may need to pay for parking inside the station. You will need your stall number.
