Update: The cause of the service disruption is an apparent act of vandalism that resulted in fiber being cut near BART's Hayward Yard.

The fiber cut prevents BART from being able to safely run trains. Crews are on scene making repairs.

AC Transit has sent some extra buses to help get people from impacted BART stations to Hayward BART where they can board a train. Extra staff are at the stations to help guide people.

We are working with partner bus agencies to see if we can get a direct bus route (we call it a bus bridge) established to connect riders to Hayward where they can get on BART. We are also exploring if some limited train service is possible in the impacted area.
More to come.

There are multiple parallel bus lines that can help riders get to another BART station. We are sending extra staff to help at the stations with no train service.
