Day 12 of #ArtAdventCalendar takes us to the circus! I took inspiration from vintage circus posters for this one. As usual, all hand-painted with regular nail polish. I was particularly proud of the elephant in this one.

Here's Ellen Harding Baker's "Solar System" quilt.🧪

This is the story.🔭

Back in 1876, an Iowa mom with 7 kids, E. H. Baker, decided that cooking & raising children wasn’t enough for her.

She started working on a wool quilt showing the solar system.

My photo shows a small brown figurine of a mouse sitting on its haunches, on top of a smooth rectangular base. Cast from bronze, the mouse leans slightly forward. Between its front paws is a piece of bread which it is lifting up to its long pointed snout as if nibbling at the food.

I've been a bit unwell and out of it for the past few days so I am behind on #ArtAdventCalendar and so to make up for it, I'll include three pieces today; three times I drew my little guy, Static Void, who is always ready when I don't know what to draw.
An amorphous, inky creature with a staticy outline who somewhat resembles a black cat in winter except its ears look like hands. It restures with an actual hand towards a jagged fissure in the side of the page. Its eyes are wide and curious or alarmed. Ink drawing of the inky static creature who resembles a cat usually but this time it is hunched in on itself a bit and looks more like a bean or gourd. It sits on top of an old television, acting as the antenna. Not doing a very good job, as the screen is all static in rows. It gestures with its ear-hands and looks to the left, from which direction a strong diagonal of light is falling, but you can't see what has the inky creature's attention. We've got two cats This is Mr. Pine, named so because when we brought him home from the pound, he escaped into a nearby pine tree.

This afternoon, my mom,bonus-dad, sis, BIL, celebrated #Sinterklaas. We played games, had snacky food, and exchanged gifts accompanied by bad poetry. 😆 My fav gift are two coasters.
