Do I think many more democrats should be doing stuff like this for attention?
Absolutely
Rep. Shri Thanedar said today he plans to introduce articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The articles will accuse the Hegseth of "murder" and "conspiracy to murder."

To be clear, this is just as bad as the Amazon AI dub thing. Not as much to meme about, but definitely just as bad. Remember when YouTube switched over to AI closed captions, removed the options for creators to provide their own, and then they all got immediately worse forever? This is like that.
After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!

Ok, I trust mine to protect me too. Which is why I trained it extensively on what the virus looks like so it can handle it.

Useful to note given the cries that AI is “inevitable” and “revolutionary” that maybe tech bros aren’t the best at understanding the future beyond their myopia.
Meanwhile, bikes still in use and even transformative as more cities adopt true bike paths.
Younger people who didn't witness it cannot fathom the hype around the Segway. Every news station agreed it would revolutionize the entire social fabric of the Earth. That all future humans would divide history between the savage days of the past, and the soon to be new era of zoom zoom scoot scoot.

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.
My latest in @thenation.com
Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

The single smartest thing Dems could do in 2028 is run someone like Ocasio-Cortez. Smart, good-looking, charismatic, and a fighter.

No one gives a fuck she’s a woman or Latina. What they care about is she gets in the face of Republicans and fights fucking back.

The Democratic electorate wants a FIGHTER. They want someone to rally behind who will get up and confront the Rs head-on. Harris’s campaign was doing its best when Tim Walz took the piss out of JD Vance and called him weird.

What few people seem to appreciate that in the wake of WW2 we collectively created these international institutions for a pretty fucking good reason

That goes for the EU too, you dingbats
yes, of course international law is massively imperfect and flawed: it is still a hell of a lot better than the prior situation, which was “you can do literally anything you want in warfare and nobody can really say boo about it beyond evoking religion”

I was unemployed for 7 months, every week I would see another project cancelled or studio shut down and think “well, fuck, that’s another 6-12 producers added to the group of us looking, applying to maybe 1-3 quality jobs available” and it sucked. It doesn’t reflect any of our skills or drive.
I can't emphasize this enough: If you're struggling to find work in games, you're not the only one and please don't blame yourself. The horrible state of the industry is unprecedented. The crash in the 80s and the recession in the late 2000s weren't as rough as this. There are so few opportunities.

it’s amazing how many people fundamentally do not grasp that the reason the world decided to *start* using international law to govern war is because most leaders at the time were able to grasp that LOAC made things less horrible for *everyone*
there is just absolutely no inkling that someday we might want the LOAC to protect our guys too

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.
