Spoiler: The answer to these questions is the same answer to the question "how did we get here?" It's literally the same root.
Which behooves people to ask why was this particular death and not the tens before it was "the breaking point for many"?

Why is this the line "that they thought would not be crossed?"
A white mother and U.S. citizen being shot and killed is not what they were sold, and it is a breaking point for many.

That does not, in any way, mean the other actions are not also important and indefensible, but it is a line *for those in the movement* that they thought would not be crossed.

Yesterday: tariffs on → Molly and I podcasted to explain it all.

Last night: courts blocked the tariffs → Podcast felt obsolete.

This afternoon: Higher court blocks the block → Tariffs are back.

Result: podcast resurrected, and now it's both retro and relevant.

Welcome to the whiplash economy.

Reminder that scientific research on diversity, equity and inclusion is foundational to science. Why would we want to squander the talent or ignore the health challenges of people who actually make up the majority of the population?

Having worked at Cato a long time ago, I can say there have been a couple genuine disappointments, but it's generally not surprising who turned out to be which.
it's funny how in the era of Trump, former CATO guys are either militant anti-Trump guys or bootlickers

REPORTER: There are laws on the book that make it a criminal offense to harbor illegal immigrants, like sanctuary state leaders have been doing. Do you think they should be prosecuted and possibly put in prison?
