Folks I gotta be honest, if no one pulled out of Qatar, they aren't going to stop the US from hosting part of the World Cup this summer. This is one of the most laughably corrupt organizations in the world we're talking about.

The Kitchener farmer's market is really special. It's where community comes together, there's amazing food, art and produce under one giant roof. I think of this every time I go there..

I can drop into literally any city in North America in Google Maps (any city I’ve tried, even very car-centric ones).

And pretty quickly find decent pedestrian or cycling improvements that happened in the past 5 or 10 years.

Like this part of Columbus, Ohio that didn’t use to have sidewalks.

Similar temperatures and snowfalls in Kitchener-Waterloo and Toronto today. Let’s compare the LRTs:

ION LRT: Slight hour disruption between a small section in the north between two stations. Service has been restored.

Finch West LRT: Shut down since this morning.

The signing of Guehi would take Manchester City's spending to c. £550m in the last 12 months alone.

No end in sight on the 115 charges. Only sends one message to City and any other cheats - do what you like.

Some winter scenes today of an LRT that worked well in the snow.
Greetings from Kitchener-Waterloo, with its ION LRT trains running every 10 minutes, on time, with full signal priority! 1/2

I was 20 when HS2 was announced. Great to know i’ll probably be in my late 60s when the Birmingham-Manchester section starts work let alone finishes. Seems like a country doing things the right way!

friends, on this most tram of Tuesdays, let me take you on a little journey into a tale of two new tram systems here in Ontario, just 80km apart as the crow flies but a world apart in operations: the Kitchener-Waterloo ION tram, and the brand new Toronto Line 6 Finch West tram

The illegal left turns also don’t help
Toronto's new Line 6 though? I'd heard it was bad but I really wasn't prepared for just how miserable it was. at every single intersection, every turn movement goes before the tram, losing at least a minute every single time. I'm in disbelief this was approved to open in this condition

for almost 15 years, i was willing to speak the truth even when it was unpopular. at first they mocked me, threw rocks at me, called me an "old man" who needed to "shut the fuck up." now they take these things as self-evident.

anyway, if you're interested, here's my view on taste. it's both exclusive and inclusive. just like there are many different languages, i think there are many aesthetics, none necessarily better than the other, although better ways to express each

How To Develop Good Taste, Pt. 1 — Die, Workwear!
Marcel Duchamp once noted in a 1968 interview with Francis Roberts, “If your choice enters into it, then taste is involved—bad taste, good taste, uninteresting taste.” For those fortunate enough to live in post-industrial societies, where choices are now nearly limitless, taste is everything.
