Finally watched the new Naked Gun tonight and I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in a long time. It retains the spirit of the humor while smartly updating things in some specific ways that @voicesbyzane.bsky.social nails here.
One of the reasons Naked Gun 2025 works better than a lot of other parody remakes of the same ilk is that it changed the target of its thematic lampooning from the lecherous nature of old cop dramas to the absurd violence of modern police fiction
Mostly because half the gags aren't "haha this woman has boobs"

One of the visual inspirations for the Thief games
watched The Third Man for research. I think all movies should dedicate this much screen time to sewer infrastructure.

Tested the n64 that my wife inherited from her older brother. This thing spent 20 years on a porch in an open box.

Console works! Games do not 😔

The only reason I know the console works is because my copy of wave race 64 works (the only n64 game of mine to survive a regrettable trade-in purge)

I'm trying to raise what I can to help him afford it. If you want to help donations are appreciated.

Skacky released a mod that got an animated horse working in the Dark Engine, and that is, apparently, somehow NOT his most ambitious work in the Dark Engine.

Congrats on the release @skacky.bsky.social I look forward to giving this one a spin.
My new Thief 2 Fan Mission, Reflection in Red, is out! I am very proud of this one, and it is by far my most ambitious work in the Dark Engine to date. www.ttlg.com/forums/showt...

My friend @noquartersoft.bsky.social started a video game publishing outfit!

Joe is a fantastic dude with experience on the publishing side of Bethesda before going independent.

And as an added bonus, they take a hard stance against generative AI and crypto bullshit!

Any Outer Wilds heads out there, you owe it to yourself to check out The Lost Reels on composer @andrewprahlow.bsky.social's YouTube. It's a wildly impressive exploration the game's musical and literary themes. A great example of storytelling through music alone.

I'm in my teens, a blink-182 song is the deepest shit ever, and the PS2 is the GOAT.

I'm in my 20s, the cringe blink-182 doesn't meet my standard of technical virtuosity, and I reject the puny 480 vertical res.

It cannot be overstated just how important she was to computer gaming as a whole. But of all her achievements, I believe 3DO Doom is a technical miracle entirely from the fact that she got something Functional in only ten weeks, in the worst development context imaginable.

Farewell, you legend. 😢
