I genuinely still wonder whether there's something wrong with me, that I can't *see* things as described. He says the wheelbarrow is red against the white chickens! So why is it all monochrome blobs?? I know what a red wheelbarrow is. I know what a white chicken is. I can imagine each individually.

I keep thinking about how I couldn't get my head round the battles and landscapes in Tolkien until I saw the movies. In my head it was, sweeping word-score as a backdrop against this bunch of little guys. (I include the Elf and the Wizard and the Menfolk under "little guys", here.)

It's largely word-shapes for me. Sentences making music. I don't get visuals, so much. If I do they're more sort of vague outlines.
