I have an entire series with side character drama. It’s based on a curse, and no one passes unscathed. So, in book one, the focus is on Mateo, but in later books, Esme, Tomas, Pedro or someone new takes the lead. Each has a lot going on in the background until it’s their turn. #AwesomeCharacters

Funnily enough #DiaryOfNana *is* the side story/prequel to #LionGirl, I just started it earlier :v
Nana is Ashe’s first friend at West though, so she makes plenty of appearances. Nalu isn’t quite so lucky, but I want to give him his chance to shine in the later books :)

I have inverted the Queer Coded Villain in my work. Of four villains across four novels: three are straight white cis men. My world is queernormative and most of my protagonists are queer to some degree.
But is Ys, a tall blonde white guy is much more villain coded than a flamboyant gay man.
