Labour love this hypnotherapist line because they get to do antisemitic dogwhistles but get bailed out by the press each time. Like they did here.

A post from the old place that still lives rent free in my head is when someone, with a straight face, claimed that the Pope wasn’t in any position to pontificate. Err…
look, polyamory is extremely not for me but I have a ton of friends who it works great for, so obviously I disagree with him here

but I always find it very funny when you get a bunch of outraged posts about the Pope being Catholic

even if he’s pretty cool for a Pope he is, you know, the Pope
In a new doctrinal note, Pope Leo and the Vatican sharply reject polygamy and growing Western polyamory, praising monogamy as an exclusive union between one man and one woman.

This is unconscionable. We should all be makimg more of a fuss about this, it puts every one of us at the mercy of these evil bastards.
So the actual bar being discussed for juryless trials seems to be anything where the sentence is less than 5 years.

Anything less than 5 years would not require a jury and could be decided by a judge in a closed room.

Worth noting that 3 years is the top number for activists generally...

I'd wager the reason they didn't charge the vast majority of the Palestine action arrestees was through fear of the gentle pensioners being presented as terrorists getting acquitted by juries.

Obviously this has implications beyond this, and it all makes me feel sick.

I hate the labour party.

Not much danger of a jury finding somebody with a popular cause innocent when there is no jury.

I cannot recall a British politician that has credibly expressed statements that are as antisemitic as those expressed by Nigel Farage. Where is the Board of Deputies?

Today I learned that stalking a 17 year old girl, writing up a 400 page 'dossier' about her, falsely reporting her to the police and smashing her phone does not constitute 'harassment'.

One wonders what *would*.

The really cool thing about 'Spreadie Van Halen' is that "halen" is the Welsh word for salt.
Just saw the list of gritter names for this year and they have outdone themselves

She was even BAD at it. Do you remember when she said "and the thing is...I don't look like your typical Jew". I BALKED! I got blocked for tweeting at her "What does a typical Jew look like please, Rachel? Is it me?" Just a....TERRIBLE thing to say!

To say the entire press taking this utterly cynical, vexatious horseshit and ramping it up into national terror amounts to a big thumb on the scales of democracy significantly undersells just how serious this stuff is. It raises questions about whether we’re a democracy in any meaningful sense.

Like, it was very obvious it was a heavily choreographed campaign of bullshit and shenanigans, but even I assumed it was *at least somewhat organic* and not just the country’s most tiresome reactionary crackpots meeting up offscreen and agreeing to all scream the same drivel in unison.

Half a century ago exactly, 36 year old Francois de Roubaix died in a diving accident in the Canary Islands. The world was robbed of one of cinema's greatest composers and sonic explorers. The replies to @gotglink.bsky.social feature some of his best scores.
Il y a 50 ans aujourd'hui, François de Roubaix s'éteignait.
La poésie, le talent et la grâce de son œuvre musicale rayonnent toujours autant.
Je vous propose de poster ici un morceau qui représente pour vous son univers.
