Another thing to add to the Dem platform: all of these contracts were plainly procured through fraud, not one of them will be honored, and all culpable parties will be prosecuted.

This isn't a "radical" demand, it's the bare minimum required to re-establish the rule of law.
The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

Girlfriend looked over my shoulder as I watched this taxpayer funded trainwreck and said "I know that's an eagle in the logo but it definitely gives nazi vibes."

Geo is infamous in western Washington for running an immigration facility where those detained often have long hunger strikes due to the inhumane conditions. Geo fights any effort for state or federal oversight and the AG’s office had to sue them just to get basic things.

How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

Posting about ICE on Instagram is now enough to get you an “administrative subpoena.” 👀

This is what ICE does every day. Hunt little kids who are here legally. They get sent to a place called the “baby jail” in Texas. Very little of it ends up on video like this. But it’s routine. And disgusting.

Sen. Markey has been calling to abolish ICE since late January

“Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. . . We can stop this. Not one penny more for the Department of Homeland Security.”

I am Graham Platner's age. I too was in the post 9/11 military. I also grew up in a small town in the Northeast US. I am also a college dropout with PTSD. And I am telling you: anyone from my demographic who had a Nazi tattoo for 15 years is either a Nazi or too dumb to be an effective US senator.

(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

I always say this—if any data or footage is collected anywhere, eventually police will come asking for it or someone will figure out a way to sell them access to it. This is also true of ICE.
Police departments across the US are quietly leveraging school district security cameras to assist Donald Trump’s mass immigration enforcement campaign, an investigation by @the74.bsky.social reveals.

One legally permitted basis for withholding data from the Epstein files is if the information is “kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign policy.”

I think about that a lot.
