Interested in many things, but among them sci-fi/fantasy and tabletop RPGs. I appear to only post about politics and the news now because the world is insane, not because I want to. He/him.

Since people are posting about themselves I am just an ordinary person who sometimes has opinions. In my spare time I play rpgs. Currently running a D&D game in a world of my own making.

US vaccine advisers say not all babies need a hepatitis B shot at birth
A federal vaccine advisory committee has voted to end a longstanding recommendation that all U.S. babies get the hepatitis B vaccine on the day they’re born.

BREAKING on MS NOW:

Brian Cole Jr., the suspect accused of being the Jan. 6 pipe bomber, confessed to agents that he planted the bombs and has indicated he supported President Trump, according to two people familiar with his interview.

So…they must have been hostile because after we bombed them they radioed for help?
This is the Witch Trials theory of war: If they try not to drown at sea, they're terrorists.

The point of a slogan is not to make a subtle reasoned argument. It’s a quick catch phrase that motivates people. It has to make sense at a glance. I don’t agree with the thought behind it, but regardless no one even knows what this is supposed to mean without a tedious explanation. It’s bad.
This will probably get me yelled at, because I can see the consensus forming here that "strong floors, no ceiling" is the dumbest of all possible slogans. I would argue that it's actually not that bad, but that it's wrong for this moment (please read 🧵before yelling at me)...

I would go with “we are going to get those bastards and make every last one of them fucking pay.”
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

This fits my preconceived notions.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

We can’t trust Senate Democrats. This stinks of a behind the scenes deal. If a Senator wants us to ever trust them again, they need to immediately call for Schumer’s ouster. Otherwise they were part of it and they need to go. That includes every one even if they voted no.
November 10, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Senate Democrats think they are smarter than us. They think we’ll blame this on the 8 who voted for it, who are either retiring or who aren’t up for reelection for years. But there’s no way this happened without the rest being in on it. Get rid of Schumer and all the rest. We can’t trust them.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Durbin is elected Democratic Whip - and is supposed to be one pushing others to vote the party line.

That he defied the caucus to vote yes means he should resign his leadership position or be voted out.

Again if Dems let him stay in leadership, this is on the caucus not just on the traitors.
Schumer is either complicit or an ineffectual leader on the most important vote as Senate Party leader.

Either way, he should be voted out TOMORROW by the rest of the caucus.

And the rest of the caucus is complicit if they keep Schumer in power.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The people who bore that symbol murdered Jews in their homes. They deliberately sought out black members of the French army and targeted them for killing. That’s just the beginning. The list of their crimes is long and horrifying. It is not a “sick tat.” It is a symbol of hate.

Good morning.

The government is shut down because Trump wants to act like a king and steal from you.

Democrats have no obligation to support a budget that funds the destruction of our democracy - and DOUBLES health premiums to fund a tax cut for billionaires.

What I don’t understand is who is deciding who we run? Shouldn’t it be Democratic voters in a primary? What business is it of Ezra Klein’s who Nebraskans pick to run in Nebraska? Let them decide this for themselves.

The “Debate Me Bro” Grift: How Trolls Weaponized The Marketplace Of Ideas
Among the attempts to create hagiographic eulogies of Charlie Kirk, I’ve seen more than a few people suggest that Kirk should be respected for being willing to talk to “those who disagree with him” as a sign that he was engaging in good faith. Perhaps the perfect example of this is Ezra Klein’s silly eulogy claiming that Kirk was “
