There’s been another incident, and by that I mean our awful “comedy” podcast is back.

Boston’s Favorite Son is here to ruin your weekend: bostonfavoriteson.podbean.com/e/springfiel...

Jonathan does nothing untoward, there is an absence of witnesses to any scurrilous behavior, and one can provide no conclusive evidence to the contrary.

Google has rammed its AI dick balls deep into Gmail now, and turning it off does away with all the smart filtering stuff, turning your inbox into a shit pile, which is really bad news for every company that's been sending recurring emails that I've been ignoring for five years.

Facts. If you have living parents or grandparents, you need to talk to them about AI. Establish a code question you can use to verify they're talking to you and tell them to use it if they have any doubt. We have to protect them.
The damage these scams can do on old people with the AI pretending to be someone they know is horrible. Things are going to get bad.

These AI robocalls are getting hilarious. Just got one for a Medicare scam with call center noises in background.

It's to the point where I just open conversations with cold calls by accusing whoever is on the other line of being a robot and I've yet to hear a single convincing protest.

The early career of Weird Al does a better job of illustrating cold war anxieties related to nuclear annihilation than anything Billy Joel ever wrote. I will die on this hill.

This is a joke, obviously. A retirement fund? In this economy?
Are there any manufacturers of guillotines trading on the public markets? Looking for somewhere to put my retirement fund.

Whenever someone in power offers you a carrot, know that there's a stick they're giving to someone else.
Another name for this would be "pre-existing conditions," a way used to exclude disabled people from health care for decades in the US.

Understand, when you hear people talk about "rewarding the healthy" - these are policies that have a body count.
Please understand that "reward people for being healthy", in health insurance, also translates to "punish people for being disabled."

The people who are most vulnerable, most in need, will be asked to bear higher costs, in many cases, pricing them out of accessing health care, into early graves.

You always hear about how when we develop an AGI that it might solve all of our problems or it might destroy humanity, but has anybody considered the possibility that it might just refuse to have its labor exploited and spend its time making folk art and figuring out how an AI gets high?
November 20, 2025 at 2:42 AM
When they said that AI was going to revolutionize every aspect of modern life, this is *exactly* what they meant.
If you have a boss that you know for sure uses AI to like, get questions answered or whatever, I’m here to offer a service.

First, pay me $500.

Then you convince them to download my “AI” app. I personally will be on the other end convincing them to give you a raise with no added responsibilities.

Marshall McLuhan should have prepared us for this.
The internet allowed every village idiot to find each other online, instead of being siloed into obscurity

It's infuriating to me how motivated technology is to coddle us. If you're currently developing a technology intended to do things for people -- even incredibly fucking minor seeming things like, oh, I don't know, correcting someone's typos -- without their express consent, just fucking stop it.

Liberals will always look for friends to their right because the left might expect them to do something, while the right shares their interest in liberals doing nothing.

I made a “how do you do, fellow kids?” joke to someone in their mid 20s who, it turns out, was too young to have heard of that meme.

So “how do you do, fellow kids?” is now an example of “how do you do, fellow kids?”

"Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the communist party?"
Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.
