Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Trans people have literally always been here; every time I see someone sneering "oh but there were no trans people when I was in high school," well. I dated a trans girl in high school, and was close friends with a trans guy.

Some of y'all reply to stuff with things I wouldn't say to people I actually knew well. I have to wonder - is it because you don't think of the person you're replying to as a full and real human? Is it just intense parasocial behavior? Or are y'all just that weird and rude always?

Just a heads up: I am working with a local faith organization running a toy drive this year. It is really important, this year of all years, that you don't neglect an effort like this.

Undocumented and/or statused immigrants are afraid to shop for their kids.

Working families are struggling.

You're never going to be younger than you are now.

Stop being afraid to want things.

You should want things.

How do you start? Write down what you want.

Look at that list when you wake up.

Look at it again midday.

Look at it once more before you go to sleep at night.

Put it into action.

My older sister has a habit of treating social media and the internet broadly as if it were a one-way mirror, where people can’t see the things she writes. Except that they do. Then she’s all surprised when people get mad at her.

I feel like she’s not alone in this.

I think it's worth considering that the MAGA women who signed onto the discharge petition to release the Epstein files are also women, who were once girls, who know women, who were also once girls, and there may be a reason that's as obvious as the nose on your face as to why they signed.
