For example, @librariesftp.bsky.social started with 5 of us, all volunteers. No money [we still have none but we sell tshirts to raise a small amount & rely on in kind donations for the rest], and we very much punch above our weight. Many people think we're a staffed nonprofit. But nope.

Maybe your representative is quite liberal and you are guessing that they already support impeaching RFK. Well, they probably haven't signed on yet to the existing articles of impeachment!

I called mine today to encourage her to support this effort. @foushee.house.gov
Lots of people asking about who has co-sponsored the articles of impeachment against RFK Jr. w/ @rephaleystevens.bsky.social. The answer is Rep. Eric Swalwell.

This is why we need people power NOW.
Sign the petition & call your rep asking them to co-sponsor:

🚨 Today, I formally introduced articles of impeachment against Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

RFK Jr. has turned his back on science and the safety of the American people. Michiganders cannot take another day of his chaos.

Today ICE is allowed to resume using Medicaid data in deportation cases. The transfer of Medicaid data to ICE was unprecedented and put on hold. It's now back. We've uploaded the data sharing agreement here: www.404media.co/here-is-the-...

They have gone so far in helping to create the current situation that coverage on a dead trans woman seems more like an attempt to generate profit from the misery they caused, so ghoulish is the perfect word.

Starting tomorrow, the Trump administration is set to send notices to 1,000 student loan borrowers (first round) noticing them of an intent to garnish their wages for student loan debt.

This is cruel and unnecessary.

If you receive a notice, send it to us and we'll try to help.

My personal guiding question remains this:

What have I done to alleviate suffering today?

Convinced that being able to answer that affirmatively each night is what has powered me through the past few years, and lets me sleep at night.
As daily goals, "stop fascism," "defeat evil," and "save the world" probably aren't going to get you anywhere, and might leave you feeling overwhelmed and helpless, but "work towards building something good" is always achievable, concrete, and useful.

I read an earlier draft of this paper - and recommend.

Very important work showing how courts - and appointees/nominees - actually function.
I have a new paper w Andrea Prat & Jake Spitz. We show that Republican appointed Supreme Court Justices vote in favor of the richer party by over 70% today, as compared to D’s at 30%. In the 1950s and both were at 50%. This strong trend may contribute to rising inequality. www.nber.org/papers/w34643

I'd probably swear on a copy of Gene Yang's Superman Smashes the Klan

What better than Superman's motto of "Truth Justice and a Better Tomorrow"

Plus it would piss the right people off 😂
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
