I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

The reason why every accusation is a confession with republicans is because empathy requires imagination, and the fact that they have no empathy stems from their inability to conjure up original ideas. You have to be able to imagine a person and put yourself in their shoes to have empathy.

"Neighbor, you should have made it home to your child, to the bright warmth of his laughter, but our country is at war with its people, and your goodness makes you an enemy, a citizen insurgent."

Cis people really have no idea how it feels to watch a regime hold a press conference to admit, on camera, the pogrom against trans people they've been waging for 11 months is not only real, but they're going to double down on genocide and try to wipe out all the children first.

Despite @aftynbehn.bsky.social generating real excitement with an authentic progressive anti-corruption message and getting closer than anyone in #TN7, *experts* are already dropping predictable “a centrist would’ve done better” takes - as though that hasn’t been tried here many times.

“TN is a waste of time and resources but I hope she wins” FUCK YOOOOOOOOU

TN-6 and TN-7 splits literally inside a building. Only +R areas have extended polling hours. ALL WE NEED ARE TIME AND RESOURCES FUCK YOOOOU

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

I knew her church was bad. I grew up in it. Two weeks ago I learned it was also the church Charlie Kirk attended. She was always so accepting of me, but I was just autistic and weird/goth, not trans. I thought she maybe come around, but this seems unlikely. Im just really sad today. I miss my mom.

Today is my mom‘a birthday. Last time I saw her, she spent the entire trip misgendering my trans kid while sharing over and over how much she loves her car and its maker. I told her how much it hurt me, she told me she was sorry I was offended. We haven’t spoken much since.

"Are there even any-" it doesn't matter. Banning the few trans athletes isn't the point. The point, from Trump's ban on trans people in government to Britain's bathroom ban to Newsom's sports ban, is to make sure everyone knows trans women are OTHER and to act accordingly to us in their daily lives.
