I'm often grateful for my job, the stories it always me to explore and the solutions to Philly problems it helps me uncover. This story, allowed me to dive deep into a problem we see nationwide regarding corporate investment in single family homes: thephiladelphiacitizen.org/corporate-in...
The Fight for Philly’s Front Doors
Corporate investors are scooping up homes in Philadelphia. Can ordinary citizens still afford to own a piece of their own city?

every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

"it is

so dry this
chant into which we’re
disappearing, the killing
continues but now we call it

decay, or is it delay,
did I love myself
too much or too
little,"

God, this hits.
I listen to the day.
I remember the rule of law, the rule
of the two-second advantage,

it sounds like endings,
a vacancy expecting re-
velation, re-
evaluation, expecting

to become a river of selves, of dis-
appearing selves

It's nice when you know nothing, watching balls and people move onscreen in inexplicable directions, while the emotions of a city happen around you 😌
I still don't understand how baseball works but, having just moved to Toronto, it's damned nice feeling the whole city coming together around the Blue Jays <3

One of the unexpected things I've learned from my advocacy for trans people is how malignant parts of the State can be, how it can misuse data for positively evil purposes. It's taught me people can't be safe with a digital ID card and so I've signed this. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

"I stood though
dumbstruck, not knowing, not knowing yet
that I am a hand and my sex
is a hand."

This is very good. And not just because I agree with him.

I am *constantly* remembering how as recently as the 90s, the GOP did a fairly decent job of keeping the full-on-Nazis away from any levers of power. I mean, Trent Lott got kicked out of politics for saying something nice about segregation.
"Common decency stigmatizes people that do not participate in it—removes them from voluntary association. We indeed have to live with one another, but terms and conditions apply."

If you're in a position to leave, you should do so now before they close the door.

New Bill Would Give Marco Rubio “Thought Police” Power to Revoke U.S. Passports
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already sought to punish immigrants for speech. New legislation might let him revoke passports from U.S. citizens.

While this is good news, we will continue fighting until this executive order is blocked permanently.

The UK is certainly looking to ban gender affirming care for trans adults as well. Seems like they'll ban private care and then force everyone into an NHS system that has 10+ year waiting lists and will only do endless gatekeeping and never prescribe hormones.
I regret to say that Wes Streeting’s war against trans people is not confined to young trans people.

Here the NHS England which he has boasted about taking back under direct political control (so far) gently discourages GPs from supporting adult trans patients as well.
