I realise I have been remiss and have not posted the various items I have made in pottery class this semester. I decided to try again after a break of about five years.

I’ll probably pin this post so it’s easier to update it.

Disclaimer, I am not good at this by any means, but it’s fun.

Hey just want to say THANK YOU to all my readers who bought my books this year and yelled about them to your friends and maybe lured your enemies into the woods and lost them there forever

You guys are the wind beneath my wings

Now this is a really interesting question.
So Im devising a atory and background and lore, and to be honest a question Ive been trying to avoid keeps coming up; why is it always assumed (as far as Ive seen) by those who study such things that its a default to create Gods in cultures? (See: Ritualistic Use in Archeology as an example)

Here we have a female Chiffchaff with her strong eye stripe, nest-building.
If you notice a Chiffchaff with a feather in its beak, then you know that it's a female bird whose nest is nearby & nearing completion. Feathers are used for the final nest lining.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 867:
Your authorial voice is the product of your background, your education, your experiences, all the books you have read. It may change with time, and depending on the narrative voice you adopt, but will keep the same range and register. Celebrate it. It's unique.

Banket Bars (more properly, banketstaafstukje) are #RecipeOfTheDay and I couldn’t love them more! Banket is the Dutch almond pastry that more usually comes in logs, but I cut them into short lengths before baking, which rather gives them a look of sweet sausage rolls. www.nigella.com/recipes/bank...

It can be hard to adopt other countries’ Christmas traditions and cherish them like our own, but when it comes to this Dutch log of almond paste, encased in puff pastry, I have no problem whatsoever! ...

Wren in the log shed.
The Wren emerges from it's hunting expedition in the log shed.
I enrich the habitat by adding hanging baskets of logs & cones which become warm even in the weak winter sun.
Spiders & invertebrates really appreciate this and ipso facto, so does Troglodytes.

This book remains relentlessly available, and it feels like now’s a good time to be trumpeting it, what with, you know, that thing that’s happening near the end of the month.
Why Do Birds Suddenly Disappear? is the story of my return to birdwatching after an absence of 30+ years, and specifically of the year (2016) in which I decided to try and see 200 species of British bird. Childhood memories, some music, a lot of birds.

I love how butterflies carry their stories in partnership with the plants that raise them.

Did u know?In nature, timing is everything.Hazel catkins bloom in Feb/Jan when there's few pollinators,so their pollen will be spread by winter winds, instead of bees & b'flies. Also, because catkins bloom in winter, there'll be no leaves on the tree to hinder pollen movement - timing perfection 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🌳
