I think "woke" was at least partly identified with "irritating" and the way we're rectifying that in Woke 2 is by being scary instead

It is also very telling that throughout the episode, the feelings/consequences they are trying to understand belong almost exclusively to the pedophiles, not to the victims. In fact, the word 'victim' only shows up in the transcript TWICE.

Man, it is 2026, I really don’t want to be defending a Clinton, but they tried this shit with Hillary over Benghazi and she whipped em in the hearing. She’s actually smart, way smarter than her husband, and it’s a fucking shame she couldn’t put it down in 2016.
I’m betting Comer will suddenly lose interest in this hearing.

They can only get away with this shit because the Republican Congress lets them. A Democratic Congress can at the very least threaten contempt.
This is 100% perjury. The idea that the Treasury Secretary doesn't know anything about one of the most important figures in crypto facilitating a giant bribe to Trump and then getting pardoned is laughable. He would literally be the only person in the finance world who didn't know about it.
KIM: When Binance founder Zhao pleaded guilty to violating money laundering laws & was sent to prison, Binance injected billions into Trump's business & Zhao was pardoned. Is that a conflict?

BESSENT: I'm unfamiliar with any of that

KIM: Is it a conflict?

BESSENT: Again, I'm not going to respond

No shade, no joke, this is a good start.

Seriously, talk to your normies. They're not on the Abolish ICE train. Start moving in this direction and recognize that reforming ICE and especially CBP is going to be a decade-long effort that rolls up from this to criminal convictions for misconduct.
SENATE AND HOUSE DEMOCRATS ARE UNITED ON REINING IN THE ABUSES OF ICE

Americans have watched in horror as ICE has terrorized communities across the country

Federal agents can’t continue to cause chaos in our cities while more Americans are killed

We must rein in ICE

Here’s what we're demanding:

This is absolutely explosive and all of you should commit this to memory so you can clearly and accurately explain to your Trump-y buddies, who really are not paying that much attention even now, just how lawless this criminal fucking administration is.

Tolerating this behavior encourages it. These people need to be ostracized at every turn. Heckled at shows, egged, doused in red paint, summarily barred from any job you can keep from them, whatever—you cannot act like this much of a smarmy asshole and get away with it.
Some infuriating context for this is Will Lewis -- Bezos's imported Charles Marimow -- smarmily telling reporters that they were the reason the Post's readership was declining nymag.com/intelligence...

Just an unbelievably slimy mother fucker right here. The thugs you hired, for an agency that more than doubled in manpower and 10x'd in budget in just six months, shot and killed a guy ON CAMERA for NO FUCKING REASON besides their own viciousness, and the best you can say is "for what"?

Get fucked.
Reporter: Do you plan to apologize to the family of Alex Pretti?

Vance: For what?

I genuinely didn’t appreciate until GOTV 2024 how much of America doesn’t like school or education and just wants to coast.
We only want the good immigrants who study hard and don't commit crimes, unless they try to take little Brayleigh's (28 ACT, 1350 SAT) God-given slot at an Ivy away by being smarter, in which case Korematsu didn't go far enough

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

a lotta people glaze revolutions & protests that achieved none of their goals while ignoring the actually successful ones

The Civil Rights movement worked because:
1) It had clear legislative goals.
2) It protested strategically in a way that isolated its opposition and made them look terrible.

Whatever you think of their merits, BLM, Occupy, WTO, etc.-style protests have **completely failed**.
Be a fucking menace to the other side. No protest gets listened to without being at least a hindrance.

I really want to back up and ask a very basic question: how was it established that he's unwanted? Because almost every single time I've seen this kind of pile-on, it's driven by a small number of angry, motivated insiders, and a big crowd of confused, unsure people who feel something's "off".
This is the stuff that marks someone as a danger.

Not even just that he intends to sneak back into an organizing space where he’s been told that he’s unwanted; the need to publicly brag about it, and make sure everyone knows.

You cannot do collaborative work with someone who only centers himself.

I honestly think the best way to deal with this is to flood them with complaints.
If you're a US citizen and you write a DHS attorney an email expressing some mild criticism of management of a case, you will instantly be labeled a domestic terrorist and they will start monitoring your email and send agent by to actually terrorize you. This is Kristi Noem's DHS.

The most terrifying thing about this obvious, idiotic, false sycophancy is that tens of millions of people—voters!—in this country believe it.

The Economist reports that Trump still has 38% approval. 38% of the public either wants this or doesn't think it's disqualifying.
SEN. BERNIE MORENO: Not to be hyperbolic, but if you hadn't been elected the auto industry in American would be over

TRUMP: The country would be over. The country would be over!

MORENO: Well. But the auto industry would've been gone first

They're basically saying, "What-if AI ran a pill mill?" Because that's the most cost-effective thing to do for these people. You're not going to be getting surgery or other treatment this way, but you can get mail-order drugs.

Good to see that many Dem elected officials now want to be seen getting involved in the cases of immigrants who have been wrongly detained by ICE.

Let's spare a word for @vanhollen.senate.gov, who did this for Kilmar Abrego Garcia back when wise pundits said this was politically dangerous.
