We've got a jam-packed podcast this week!

First up is @jlray.bsky.social to discuss a fascinating polling experiment we conducted w/YouGov Blue.

Then we talk to @cgaldieri.bsky.social about all things New Hampshire, including the already nasty GOP Senate primary.

Gen AI is a tool that allows people to cheat themselves of growth.
A pretty bleak thing that GenAI is revealing is that a significant percentage of the population seems to have no interest in actually learning or doing anything. They want to ChatGPT their way out of hobbies, art making, everything... www.thecut.com/article/woul...

Yeah, William McKinley really dropped the ball when it came to the Epstein files.
Q: In the interests of transparency, why not just go ahead and release the full Epstein files?

LEAVITT: This administration has done more with respect to Epstein transparency than any administration ever

The fact that this, and every other Trump pardonee who has subsequently broken the law, has not ended Trump's political career, that it barely even registers on the national discourse, underlines just how far we are from a functioning democracy that values accountability.
A man pardoned by Donald Trump for his role in January 6th - he assaulted Capitol Police officers with bear spray & a metal whip - has avoided prison for child sex crimes because of the president’s sweeping pardon, despite pleading guilty to soliciting what he believed was a 15-year-old girl for sex

Also almost nobody watched that movie, it was three hours long.
Same group of writers on a Friday the 13th movie: “We’d LIKE to get started on the script, but the tricky thing is, they killed Jason off in the last one…”
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

A striking feature of Trump 2.0 is that while elites capitulated immediately, ordinary citizens are using democratic institutions--e.g. the right to trial-by-jury--to the absolute hilt in defence of democracy.

Robber barons and sincecured pundits gave in; the citizenry fights back harder than ever.
straight-up jury nullification. this guy did it, confessed to it, and the jury instructions explicitly said that if he did it intentionally, it was assault.
