Nic & I wrote hundreds of events for Amberspire, so I can say (with some bias) that the game’s world is so considered & interesting, but allows the player to form their own narrative that is reflected back at them in the cities they build.

I’m proud to work on it, and everyone should wishlist it!!
And hey, wishlist Amberspire! tell a friend! store.steampowered.com/app/3350750/...

And as others say: you want the placeholder to be obvious so you remember how to replace it
Sorry I think using AI for placeholders is also bad
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know you only care about finished art but placeholder art also needs to be made by a human being who also needs to be paid for that

But placeholder midjourney slop cuts that artist out

I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

I will say that I find it very shady and mildly undemocratic that the Liberals are trying to obtain a majority they weren’t elected on through floor crossings

That and minority governments are better for democracy due to the compromise they necessitate

OH WELL
BREAKING: Conservative MP Michael Ma is crossing the floor to sit as a Liberal.

Liberals are now just one seat short of a majority.

This is *entirely* (in the modern era anyway) a DRM/ownership problem. If libraries could *own* a copy of an Epub, they could make backups, plan for preservation, etc.
This is a huge problem for libraries. We have the problem of “bit rot,” both as the decay of the physical carriers of digital media and as the obsolescence of software & hardware to render that media for use.

And then we have DRM and the problem of ownership.

Going digital is very expensive. 📚
Physical media is actually more longlasting for posterity than digital media in so many ways. You have books written a thousand years ago carefully preserved in Timbuktu. An article published online may vanish so no one has any record of your work anymore.

Scientists at Canadian institutions have long punched well above our weight despite low and stagnant funding. Spending a billion dollars on external recruitment while science here is starving is exactly what Harper got wrong about supporting research excellence in Canada.
Canada’s new government is investing big to attract world-class talent in science and technology — and become an innovation powerhouse.

Do I hate that the Liberals are so conservative that it's enticing Conservatives to join them? Heck yes.

Credit where it's due: our controller scheme is directly inspired by the one that iirc @madjackmcmad.bsky.social implemented for the Tangledeep switch port
I feel like caves of qud's controller setup is so good that it should just become the canonical controller layout for roguelikes from now on. it's so good I might actually prefer it to mouse and keyboard. Wildly underappreciated revolutionary genre work in that one element alone

A document dripping with blood of Indigenous people. That is the power of these kinds of documents. They will carry that to the next generations and so on. No one escapes that in the end, no matter how much wealth they have. Our children were starved and buried for this 'company' called 'Canada.' 🪶
It is SO CANADIAN that the Hudson's Bay Charter, one of the most important foundational documents for our history, has been sold to two of Canada's richest families.
