I think a lot of trans people go way too easy on organisations that choose to be complicit in our oppression. I believe this is due to internalised transphobia. We often don't think we're important enough for other people to care about our safety, wellbeing, and equitable involvement in society.

If no one fucking says "fuck you make me" then they win uncontested. Literally all the fucking way back to 2017 the story has been "allies" folding because they weren't prepared to take a risk. We could have won easily long ago but didn't because it would have been hard for allies.

Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.

it's because the notion that child sexual abuse is some uniquely taboo universally reviled übercrime for which men can easily get their lives/careers ruined is a myth and always has been. it's always been tacitly permitted, winked at, ignored, excused, and downplayed across all sectors of society.
Maybe it's my Autism Brain or whatever, but I don't really get why anyone who had access to this stuff wouldn't have splashed these horrific revelations literally everywhere the second you knew about them. Take these fuckers down.

The idea that sexual abuse is part of “private” life instead of a public crisis has done incalculable damage. Anti-rape activists have to fight to even make it possible to expose sexual abuse as a wrongdoing in public without being silenced and undermined. That fight is far from won
