i know that all of us who have given academic talks about sexual harassment have had the experience of giving those talks knowing that someone in the room is attending *because they are credibly accused*… gross! very gross!
As for the colloquium, the person who was supposed to host it, an Aspen board member, simply didn’t bother to show up and she has never acknowledged or apologized for this. So a friend of mine had to do it in her pajamas and didn’t feel comfortable refusing to take questions from these guys.

The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

I'd actually argue that Summers' has such extreme biases when it comes to race and gender, that his expertise is suss.
I refuse to believe that Larry Summers' expertise and skills are indispensable in any way. Please find another economist and policy expert, @americanprogress.bsky.social. There are loads out there.
