He “feels badly” for the royal family. What a fucking bad person he is. Any normal, decent human being would feel badly for all the young girls who were victimized by Epstein’s pedophilia ring. All the young girls abused, raped, and forever changed. I feel badly only for them.
Trump on Prince Andrew and the Epstein scandal: "I feel very badly. I mean, it's a terrible thing that's happened to the family. That's been a tragic situation. And it's too bad. I feel badly for the family."

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that. I didn't see it. I'm not sure.
I mean it's racism. Their against a multiracial democracy and Puerto Rico represents that for them.

Polling on DC is more mixed, but Puerto Rico statehood is objectively popular! Consistently high 50s or 60s. It was an official GOP platform plank for decades until just last year. Also until last year, Puerto Rico's non-voting House member was a pro-statehood Republican. She's now the governor.
Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

This is not about the government shutdown. This is the House refusing to work--lots of plausible theories about why--but the effect is beyond a dysfunctional legislative branch. We're looking at the de facto elimination of the legislative branch. 🚨

Congress nerds--is there a record here to 👀?
The House hasn't been in session for 45 days.

For 17 years I have relied on SNAP benefits. I'm on Social Security Disability, Medicare, Medicaid & live w/chronic illness & disabilities, 2x cancer survivor & Lupus. SNAP is ESSENTIAL for my nutrition. Me & 42M are experiencing a President who does NOT care if 1/8 of ALL Americans STARVE to death!

Congress set aside funds to keep SNAP running during a government shutdown, but the Trump Administration is refusing to follow the law and allow this critical assistance to go out to families.

Dems don’t need to copy his politics or even necessarily his campaign strategy, they need to learn how to grow a fucking spine.

Congratulations to the secret Democratic mole at Mar-a-Lago who suggested Trump hold a “Great Gatsby” themed party during a government shutdown just as food assistance was being suspended and federal employees were missing another paycheck. Masterfully done, sir.
As someone who has children in special education, this is an especially gut punching dehumanization. And with most everything Trump has done policy wise, lawless.
The Trump administration has abandoned its commitment to an equitable education for all children, Pepper Stetler argues. But this attack isn’t new—Congress has been weakening the transformative law that governs education for disabled students for decades:

The government has abandoned its commitment to an equitable education for all children—if it ever had one.
