Liberals aren’t actively rooting for policies that drown these children though. The right does that with immigrants. It’s insane how often I see this stupid type of post without any recognition that this is what is happening.
Liberals who wonder why the right isn’t concerned about the suffering of migrants, and in the next breath “oh well” drowning children whose parents might have voted red are operating with a cognitive dissonance so intense I’m almost envious.

It sounds like a good idea to create a watchdog for these concentration camps, but you’re unwittingly normalizing them by doing it. It just forces them to do a slightly more performative job of oppressing people.

I just have to say, as a historian of the Reconstruction-era Klan, that masked paramilitaries are very bad and masked vigilantes are even worse and there are causal links between the two and none of this is good for democracy.
