No idea if anyone else has coined this, probably have, but I've taken to calling this kind of anti-Arab racism from people who don't even have any connection to Israel in an ethnoreligious sense "parasocial racism". These people are doing it for the love of the game. Same as with South Africa.

Every single one of these stories is heartbreaking, military or not, but the fact that they’re going after people in the process of getting their green cards (including w/in military families) is a stark reminder that it was never about criminals & it was never about immigrating the “right” way.

I’ve lived in 3 countries, have visited another 15 plus 40/50 states & this has always rung true. People are pretty much the same everywhere & in my experience, most are decent. They care about family, friends, & community. They want security & access to education & healthcare.
It’s all the same.

I've been to all 50 States, worked overseas for a decade, and married into an extended family in Southeast Asia.

I know you already know, but for other folks who don't, Goldsmith was previously head of OLC, is a genuinely brilliant mind on executive authority and separation of powers, and is usually very cautious about making claims this unqualified and direct. That he is saying it so starkly is v significant
