So much of what they are doing is so much worse than this, but it is still shocking the degree to which ICE isn't even *pretending* to be more than a roving band of street thugs.

They just stole this kid's phone, I guess because they figure if they can get their hands on it, why not?
Yes, immigration agents not only took Arnoldo's phone, the 10th grader had to use Find My Phone to locate it — in a vending machine for used electronics, close to an ICE detention center.

He's insane, you know. Perhaps it's dementia. Perhaps it's heavy metal poisoning. But he's absolutely batshit. Pretty wild that Republican lawmakers don't care even a little!

The myth: LLMs can replace experts.

The reality: LLMs can create a decent first draft that can then be reviewed by an expert.

Cheap, fast and good. Pick two.

People think America became the Bad Place after Trump got elected when in reality we elected him because this is the Bad Place.

What’s wrong with quote posts?

I genuinely do not understand why people feel the need to make up these complicated rules for how others use social media.
Except he’s doing quote posts, not replies.

We should refer to the war on Venezuela as the “Epstein Files War”, since that is the only realistic explanation for it.

What an embarrassing and humiliating time to be an American.

We now have a literal dementia patient conducting actual wars for no reason, and because the GOP is without the tiniest shred of principle they won’t impeach or use the 25th amendment.

A mentally incapacitated head of state and no rule of law is a bad combination (not that either is ok on its own).

I try to be empathetic and understanding about how challenging it is to accurately report on AI stuff in 2026 but whoever wrote this headline is small-child-level credulous in the old fashioned way

I've never seen someone so excited that they correctly identified a giraffe in a picture.

This really is a case of a mentally challenged person being manipulated by people who understand that they can benefit by making him think he is capable.

The President of the United States is very seriously mentally ill, and elected Republicans are so afraid of him that they won’t do or say anything about it.

I don’t know how anyone can talk about power tools being useful with a straight face. I heard about this one guy who managed to cut off a finger because he didn’t bother to learn how to properly use a circular saw. Power tools will never increase productivity.
I don’t know how anyone can still talk about “the AI revolution” with a straight face. Reuters story about a railroad company that has sunk $300,000 into “developing AI products” and appears to have made…a chatbot that doesn’t work?

He was brilliant from Day One.

This is a white supremacist rally. Anyone who attends something like this or still supports the leader of this movement should be unwelcome in your home and shunned from civil society. Period. We’re way past the point where this crap should be tolerated from anyone. Cast them out.
Trump: "Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is. With her little turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but bitch ... we ought to get her the hell out ... she's here illegally."

The crowd in Pennsylvania then starts chanting "send her back!"

The word that the @washingtonpost.com is avoiding in this headline is “murder”. Intentional, premeditated murder.

Democracy is dying in darkness here because they won’t say what this is.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

It's nice to be retired from all that, so this can all now be amusing.
Hello, please see attached. They want to sign on Monday so we have our work cut out for us before then. I have a prior family engagement this weekend, but I’ll be available for update calls 9pm each night. I’ve put time on your calendars for those. Let’s get started.

I would also like "hold ICE personnel responsible for their crimes."
Abolish ICE is the absolute minimum acceptable policy.
eric swalwell said on msnow that a major goal of a dem majority after the midterms would be for ice masks to come off and badges to come out, this is insufficient
