NSF is about to dismantle NCAR at Russell Vought's direction to protect the fossil fuel industry. It's hard to communicate just how much NCAR does, so let's take a look: I've never worked at NCAR, and I've worked with NCAR researchers once ever. What scientific discoveries has NCAR made possible? 👇

Extraordinary media malpractice at the Financial Times. Nowhere does the report explain that #fentanyl is *not* smuggled into the U.S. from #Venezuela -- and so Trump's justification for attacking that country is completely dishonest. @pabloreports.bsky.social @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

👇🎯 The sneering disdain & barely veiled antisemitism Jessep shows when he asks, "You, Lt. Weinberg?" - specifically singling out the silent Jewish lawyer who isn't even lead counsel - was a masterpiece & made it quite clear exactly who he was & who we were supposed to compare him to in our minds.

We don’t self-incriminate!
Zero intelligence secrets, sources, or methods are put at risk by showing a video of a boat exploding, or of shipwrecked people clinging to boat pieces hit by a missile and exploding.

Such a video reveals absolutely nothing about how the US identified that boat, located it, or chose to attack it.

This is important
I only needed to read the headline to know @sulliview.bsky.social was dead on. When she called the coverage of Trump “stenography” I said to myself “yep.” And I applauded when she outlined 3 changes on how to respond to Trump.

Follow them please, journalists.

For millions of us, this was the first time we ever saw Rob Reiner. …When he became “Meathead” on “All in the Family.”

He was brilliant from Day One.

Rob Reiner made some great movies but he was also unafraid to speak the truth, and was one of the public voices who knew you don’t squander your platform, and only got louder about opposing evil fucks as he got older. Legend.

Signaling their bold new commitment to AI, Purdue is changing its mascot from the Boilermakers to the Bullshitters.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”
