Can now confirm that the warehouse in Social Circle, GA is in escrow and nearing final sale. The transaction will remove an estimated $30K from the Georgia and Walton County tax stream. The sale also gives ICE another 8,500 beds. The selling owner is the PNK S1, LLC of Atlanta, GA.

We should’ve known when they brought in Tom Homan

The “draw down” of ICE in Minnesota is nothing but a hoax

-They’re still threatening protesters at gunpoint

-They continue to conduct warrantless arrests

-Kids are still being detained

It’s only a matter of time before they kill somebody else

Though it is undeniable that something is deeply awry with a nation that can give a popular vote majority to a moral degenerate who did not hide his authoritarian plans, we shouldn’t act as though public opinion hasn’t shifted since the 2024 election.

Trump is governing like he has a huge mandate. The numbers disagree.

This happens with*everything* now. No matter how grave the crime or one-dimensional the injustice, after four days the hivemind of American punditry decides that the Real Story is how the people upset about it are the real villains.

The other aspect of this that does not get much attention:

There is a deep grief within all of us women every single time we watch men refuse to hold other men accountable. And it happens over and over and over again, right in front of us. A constant refrain of “we don’t care about you”
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex

It's kind of amazing how the worst consequence many of our most powerful people can conceive of is someone being mad at them online, to the degree that they are driven to distraction about it even in the abstract.
It’s really weird for some corners of the media to do a whole “the Epstein files are a moral panic that has gone too far” thing when no one has faced any sort of punishment and doesn’t sound like they’re going to.

AOC: We are going to have to reckon, as a country, with this time. And I hope that that reckoning includes prosecution of people who are involved with the lawbreaking and human rights violations they are knowingly engaging in right now.

This explains so much about CNN, NBC, ABC… Corporate media selling warmed over liberalism merely because that’s what sells, but then strategically holding the line for billionaires & Repubs on topics where it really matters
Nobody wants what WAPO or CBS is selling. Even their ideal target audience of greedy right wing deluded bigots is already over-saturated with "better" (simple, entertaining, lazy agitprop confirming their priors) and free options across the entirety of radio, TV, and the Internet

WAPO "leadership" believe they're able to build a profitable pseudo-journalistic, pseudo-academic, pseudo-intellectual agitprop safe space for right wing corporatists, despite the fact that's a tiny, already well served market

but they're also perfectly fine if the paper fails completely
The morning after mass layoffs, The Washington Post publishes this as their lead editorial. The owner and publisher clearly have no idea why they are losing subscribers. Meanwhile they have destroyed a storied brand.
